Shia's Attorney to Judge: Smoke This!

TMZ has learned that Shia LaBeouf finally showed this morning in a Burbank, Calif. court this morning to enter a plea -- sorta.

Attorney Michael Norris appeared on the "Transformers" star's behalf and pleaded not guilty to unlawful smoking.

A judge had issued a warrant for LaBeouf's arrest after he or his lawyer failed to appear yesterday in court.

A date of April 24 was set for an arraignment and pre-trial hearing.

UPDATE: Norris tells TMZ a warrant was ordered yesterday, but never issued -- so Shia "was never in danger of being arrested." The warrant was withdrawn today.

31. I'm amazed by the lack of logic in these posts. LeBEEF got a ticket, whether you agree with that or not. health nut or not. he has to appear in court. You're saying it's a small infraction, what if someone at your office goes into your jacket and takes 100$. It's only 100$, so small and minute, not worth the court cost but then you'll be wanting the guy to go to Jail and pay you the 100$ with interest. Then, you're 100$ is worth the 500$ in court expenses and the thousands of dollars spent on sending a guy to jail for a few days.

Laws are made to be a deterrant, they may not always work but I'm sure a couple of tickets would at least slow down the smoking outside so the police can get back to doing what they're supposed to do. Don't blame the police for doing their job in enforcing the law, blame the idiots who knowingly break the law and expect to get a free pass.

You may disagree with laws and fight them, elect people who will repeal these laws but "LeChicken" is not above the law, celebrity or not.

35. We have to stop giving these Bozos their 15 minutes of fame! Just arrest the juvenile delinquent just like any other citizen who breakes the law and stop giving them a break because they are a "celebrity!"
For God sake! I am tired of our justice system giving everyone a break who has a ton of money or is a celebrity!
It's suppose to be equal justice for all but obviously it's not!

38. How come the other website told me that Shia Love may spend jail time for unlawful smoking? That's only a juvenile crime against mommy and daddy. The bench warrant above is a $1,000 warrant for failure to appear in court. Shia love should know better. I'd spank him myself if he needed to be punished by mommy and daddy, otherwise if he chose to be more grown up and punished by the legal system, I'd get a set of my trick handcuffs and cuff this dude as tight as possible, and bring him into the court of my bedroom. The bench would be the back of my bed, and the head of my bed would act as the hard chairs in court, although Shia love would enjoy the soft comfort of my pillows more than the hard chairs in court. And if he speaks up to this judge, a gag order would be placed on him immediately.
