"Bachelor" On Hunt For Human Remains

Former "Bachelor" bachelor Andy Baldwin just got back from the island of Palau in the South Pacific -- not on vacation, on a mission with the Navy. Now let's talk about why we the taxpayers are footing the bill on such BS.

Baldwin was among 20 military types who were on a search mission in the middle of the ocean. What, you ask, were they looking for? A B-24J bomber that went down during the war. Not Iraq. Not Vietnam. No, not Korea. We're talking WWII, as in more than 60 years ago.

Turns out, the military spends $52 million each year to find the remains of missing soldiers -- it's part of the POW/MIA program. That's all well and good depending on the circumstances. But a crash that is ancient history, at a time when the economy sucks and the Federal government is sucking the life out of everyone with taxes??

Baldwin, a Navy medic and diver, and crew found what could be human remains. We're told it's all being tested in the lab and it could take months, even years, to determine identities. At least he got a really good tan.

32. Who is Andy?

ABC The Bachelor called him "An Officer and a Gentleman".

He is not! He disgraced the uniform by going on that ridiculous show.

Finally, he is doing something worthwhile. I hope he can recover those sacred bones.

And, NO, I don't have anyone in the military nor have I lost anyone. It's just common sense .

33. Well, Harvey. People are learning that you are a liberal Jew. Most Jews are liberal. You just found out that not everyone is a lib. Please don't class me as uneducated. I have more schooling than you. I have two advanced degrees (one a JD like you). And, here's another shocker, I support Israel. Good Christians do.

You're wealthy because you live in a free country. That missing soldier gave his life for YOUR freedom and secure life.

34. You know what is ironic, I read all these comments against TMZ and for the MIA program yet the voting doesn't reflect that. Who are the cowards afraid to come forward and comment?

Do you propose that we disband the military? How do you think we will fare as sitting ducks? I'm sure you are a child who has no clue just yet. Under 15 I presume. It's ok baby. You'll understand in time.

37. Oh please..NO military has honor..Its alllll a ploy to get people to put their lives on the line...Like i said in my post before there is only one truth, honor etc..and that is LOVE.

So lets see waste a ton of money to find 60 yr old dead bodies..hmmm and if they do find them then what. Nothing!! No progress for humanity, just peace of mind for someones ego.

Spend that money on cancer research, World hunger etc..Something that will better people, and not this illusion of honor for the families, soldiers.

The military prop know this is a waste too, but they have to live up to the perception that anyone in the service is apart of something greater..blah blah blah

38. Imagine if these were the sacred bones of "Native Americans"? Hollywood would want the Big Red One to assault the beaches again. Damn the casualties. You can't breathe near an Indian burial ground without some lefty losing their s***.

39. What a truly stupid poll! If my husband were to die in battle you are damn right I'd want the military to recover his remains. This site is offensive in lots of ways but this is a new low.

40. THE PEACE AND FREEDOM DERIVED FROM SUPERIOR EXPERTICE IN EXECUTION OF MILITARY OPERATIONS, IS SOMETHING THE...PROTECTED, AND IGNORANT SHALL NEVER KNOW

41. 30. Navy Brat...you are so far off it's not even funny, but you can keep thinking whatever you want.

EFF...you have zero idea what you are talking about. The best and brightest who happen to have a sense of duty make up the military, not a bunch of brainwashed poor like you seem to think.

People like you two make me worry...we better hope you are a minority, otherwise we're doomed.

So now you want say that you are middle class or poor??? Okay, so tell me why I have not been able to get a job that pays over 70k in the last year?? I have a degree and I am constantly told I am over qualified. Companies now are taking advantage of the unqualified and hiring twenty something at 35K per year vs. people like me. They would rather hire cheap and train than take experiance so think on that.

42. You keep reporting on the antics of those hollywood drop-outs...and let the Military take care of its own! We have always been a family..a close family...and we do not leave our dead behind if we can find them. You ought to be ashamed...but, then Socialism does not harbor any good feelings about anything but the dregs ....

43. Bad acting, TMZ. I come here for entertainment chatter and I am very disappointed to see your disgusting rant against the costs of searching for the remains of some who gave all. Stick to telling us about Britney and her merry band of prankstars.

You truly are naive. It's bad world out there. It has been since before America even existed. There is no such thing as Utopia. If we had no military right now, in this day and age, you would be ending sentences saying Insha'Allah or being followed by Commie Secret Police. Bank on that because as long as there is power to be had, someone will try and take it. By force if necessary. I hate to spoil your day but life isn't cupcakes and rainbows.
