"Bachelor" On Hunt For Human Remains

Former "Bachelor" bachelor Andy Baldwin just got back from the island of Palau in the South Pacific -- not on vacation, on a mission with the Navy. Now let's talk about why we the taxpayers are footing the bill on such BS.

Baldwin was among 20 military types who were on a search mission in the middle of the ocean. What, you ask, were they looking for? A B-24J bomber that went down during the war. Not Iraq. Not Vietnam. No, not Korea. We're talking WWII, as in more than 60 years ago.

Turns out, the military spends $52 million each year to find the remains of missing soldiers -- it's part of the POW/MIA program. That's all well and good depending on the circumstances. But a crash that is ancient history, at a time when the economy sucks and the Federal government is sucking the life out of everyone with taxes??

Baldwin, a Navy medic and diver, and crew found what could be human remains. We're told it's all being tested in the lab and it could take months, even years, to determine identities. At least he got a really good tan.

76. stick to the trashy celeb news. your take on this one is so ignorant you'll sink yourself if you keep it up. the military has a legal procedure for recovery of remains, period. they follow it, and that's that. it's the law.

if ya think it's a waste, then put in your two cents to push for peace when there's a chance to keep the troops home. after we're in, we're in, and recovering remains is part of the game.

have ya snarked off on how much is spent to fly someone out of the scene of a car wreck in a lifeflight? oh that's right, that might be you in the lifeflight huh, so any expense is okay. when someone's son is missing, closure is their right. you don't say, well, he was good enough to spend money training him, but now that he's most likely dead we're done with you and yours.

stick with the trash. this one doesn't warrant your attention.

78. i HAVE NOTICED YOU (TMZ.COM) HAVE THE "DRUDGE REPORT" ON YOUR BLOGROLL. AS WAS THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE DUTIES OF PRINCE HARRY IN AFGHANISTAN. WHICH ONLY WENT TO {{{TRUSTED}}} NEWS SOURCES, BY ADVISEMENT TO KEEP IT "CONFIDENTIAL". ALTHOUGH THIS IS NOT ONE OF THESE SITUATIONS, YOU ARE NOW ON A "WATCH LIST"....

79. Great Job TMZ :)

The whole problem with the world is that people hold on to the FREAKIN past so much they cant function in the present moment and do stupid things like this search. Everyone is talking about closure etc, but what does finding remains prove. Thats not closure. We all must part with everything in life...Fools. Bones have no meaning our PAST OBSESSED minds give them meaning. The only thing that matters is whats in your heart. Why does something external have to bring someone closure or waste tons of money on fake army illusions.

80. $52 million is a drop in the bucket. It's nothing. Who wrote this? What's wrong with you? Geez. We need to try to bring home the heroes that fought for you and I! You obviously have not been told stories by a WWII vet. Maybe you should talk to one before they've all passed.

81. Ummm....Veteran, do you mean that the Navy didn't even know who went down on that ship? A bunch of MIA's on a NAVY boat? Doesn't say much for military records does it?

I just love pissing you people off. Patriots are funny when angry!

83. How dare anyone dispute our heroes? These Men died for our freedoms, and we as Americans should go to any length to bring those men and women home to their families and country, We should never turn our back on our POW our MIAs, No matter what era we are in. It is ridiculous to think this even made it as a topic of discussion!!!!

It wasn't a boat, you ignorant homo...it was a plane. Try reading the story. THOUSANDS of planes were lost during the war without any witnesses. There wasn't time to "keep records"...it was battle and nobody was ever sure who was on what plane. I hate your guts.

87. 72. Navy Brat...that's pretty accurate, I am in no way rich...I make less than what you are complaining about not being able to find. I live in CA and know how expensive it is here, and I could make more than I do...but I own a business and I choose to make less so my employees can have health coverage and a good 401k plan. The funny thing is that I'd probably try to help you too...but you seem to have a giant chip on your shoulder, and I imagine it comes across in job interviews so there is little point.

Tony P, as an acoutant I have to tell you that you not getting a payroll salary does not diminish how how much you make per year in a Sub S Corp. LMAO, Nice try but does not fly as I know what Sub S owners take as tax deductions....LMAO!!!

88. Who the hell do you think gave their lives for the right of this site to even exist. My Lord!!! Some people should get their heads out of their asses and realize what is right and proper in this world. These aren't just bones. They're AMERICAN SOLDIERS!!! I'm seriously offended in TMZ's "outrage" of this.

Just remember when you're chasing Lohan or Paris around Beverly Hills, who protected that precious right...and died so you can do it.
