Brad and Angie: Globalicious

BrangelinaWe can now put a number on exactly how much better Brad Pitt and Angelina are than the rest of us -- $8 million.

That's how much the do-gooding twosome donated to charity in 2006, according to their tax records. Through their foundation alone, they gave $2.4 mil away -- including a cool million to Doctors Without Borders and the Global AIDS Alliance.

Jolie, who played the wife of slain journalist Daniel Pearl in a film last year, gave $100,000 to a foundation in his honor. The movie itself only made $9 mil.

62. I absolutely cannot stand Angelina Jolie. I think q-tips have more to offer the world than that woman. It amazes me how just a few years ago she was a major slut having incestuous liason's with her brother and screwing her way to Oscar night and now...ambassador to the world. I want her PR Firm

63. Any one of you who has negative things to say about this great couple needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror. And probably look for a good therapist.

64. Everytime they do a good deed they shout it with a bullhorn so everyone knows how wonderful they are.

65. If they gave money to charity that they made selling their childrens pictures isn't that against child labor laws? Doesn't the money legally belong to the children and they have to keep it in trust for them until they are eighteen?

. Brad supposedly gave away $4,000,000 and he made over $45,000,000. That's roughly 10%. I also give 10% away yearly to my church and children in our area that are going without. Should you make a shrine for me as well. I make under $30,000 a year and give the same percerntage away. Do the math people
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) How do you know Brad made 45M? None of this data is ever disclosed.

2) You and I DONT have the data. Therefore, DONT SPECULATE.

3) Unless you can provide us with CREDITABLE LINK, you are speculating.

68. My thoughts on the Make it Right project :--

There is good that come out of these. 1st -- People who were displaced will have a home. 2nd -- there will be jobs created during construction.

Finally, once this neighborhood is put back together, this can be a POTENTIAL tourist stop for tourists, visiting the area planned with the world's renowned architects. We all know tourists like to visit UNESCO world heritage sites. The same reasoning can apply here. Travel company can set up WALKING tours. Where can you find a place with all those houses, planned by world renowned architectects ALL IN ONE LOCATION ? And to see how eco-green features are applied, to learn about the history of pre and post Katrina. It could be very educational too.

With tourist bus bringing people to the neighborhood, there will be shops springing up to cater to the tourist, gift shops, restaurants, ice cream store, coffee shop, hotels, etc. Gift shops can sell post Katrina postcards, different houses blueprints, tote bags, MIR T shirts. Heck, they can even bottle those dirt or muds from the site and sell them. It's all good for the local ECONOMY.

Tourism is big business !!!

Brad's ideas are BRILLIANT !!! This is the man who has the foresights, the connection, the drive , and the heart. He has all my respect.

We should be greatful that Brad is shepherding this project with his precious TIME.

69. When my neice died at the very tender age of 12 and "Make a Wish" foundation made all of her dreams come true before she died, I would loved to have personally thanked everyone involved. However, the acts and money in this case were given anonymously, as most charitable acts are.

70. This has all been announced before several times, it was in 2006. Actually there were 16 very important people above
them on the list so maybe they aren't the best after all. The others just aren't on the front page of the paper every
day. They donated 8 million to a foundation but not nearly all of it was used. I'm sure that we will see what is
done with the rest of it. Actually Oprah gives far more and not just for a few causes. She built a lot of houses in
New Orleans and also in Missippi, she is helping a lot of different people right now. In a town in Ks. she donated and
got other s to help her give aid to 5 families that needed it. Ellen has always been generous. Just because they
chose to call the press and have it announced every time does not make them better than anyone else. Think
of all the good the Angel Network does, Bono, Bill Gates, and countless others. People with low income that give
are just as generous, even giving your time to help someone is generous. Bono retired to do it full time, maybe
they can too. St Jude's spearhead by Marlo Thomas's raised $20 million last year and it was never announced in
every paper in the world. Her family has kept this project started by her father alive and strong and it has helped
countless people. If they are so generous we certainly don't need to donate to their causes, they can do it them-
selves. American Idol raised $75 million.

71. I'm a little confused...
I thought she gave 1/3 of her money to charity. Hasn't she been spewing that for years? Soooooo obviously she is taking a hit to her asking price since her movies seem to bomb and be box office poison or maybe she doesn't give 1/3 to charity?

73. They are a couple who give back and they feel they must since they have been so blessed. I admire them for doing this, and I think that Brad is truly happy and has found his soul mate in Angie. Whether we like it or not or feel bad for Jennifer it is just the way it is. She didn't and couldn't fulfill him in the way Angie has added the substance to his life that was missing. It is just a fact so I believe. Jennifer is a nice girl. I hope she finds love again. Looks like it won't be so easy for her I am sorry to say.

74. #65--I think the bible totally refers to this concept. When you give don't make it public, do it so only your father in heaven can see. Well "to the effect." not the exact wording. Happy Easter everyone or Passover.

Perhaps because they are so high profile it is made public. Maybe they do more then what is reported.

75. to anonymous@11:30PM - Just what you want - thousands of 'tourists' visiting your home and neighbourhood. What a nightmare that would be. A guy a few blocks away puts up a huge light display at Christmas, and the neighbours have had to apply to have him limit its size, as so many people drove and walked through and stomped on bedding plants, lawns, dumped garbage, clogged streets, made a huge racket (at all hours) and took up residents parking that enough was enough. That 'brilliant' idea will need much fine tuning. Who want their quiet place to be a tourist trap? Let Disney handle that. Is that YOUR idea, or Brad's?
I think building homes for displaced people is fine. I know many who do much, and Brad's TIME is no more precious than any one else's. We should be grateful? I thought he did it to help the displaced. I would imagine they might be grateful.
