76. This was in 2006. They set up a trust but only donated about a 1/4 of it. We heard about it in 2007, and now again
in 2008. One half was from baby pictures . Some magazines wrote they donate a third of their income to charity.
Now we know why they keeping selling the baby pictures. You all better start going to their movies so they can
continue to live their rich life style and keep donating and telling you to.

77. My husband, a well known tax man and economist would have told them , to the penny what to give. Angie has an unusual (!) personality, and Brad is obviously smitten with her. They are helping many good causes in this world, and are raising their own children, as well as adopting other children, which are now their OWN. Hows about gettin' married to each other, make that commitment. Their income is so high, that it would be beneficial, financially for them to remain unmarried. It would be beneficial emotionally for the children if they were married. If either goes into politics, they will marry, in my opinion. (who cares what I think !?) But, for the movies, maybe it's better to be thought of as single. Let's face it , it's not our beeswax. They are more to be admired than most celebs.

The Jolie Pitts did not release or publish this information themselves. This information came from the tax forms of the Jolie Pitt Foundation filed with the IRS back in October 2007. The tax filings of all similar foundations (Private Foundation or Section 4947(a)(1) Nonexempt Charitable Trust Treated as a Private Foundation), IRS Form 990-PF, are public filings and available for anyone to see. Any number of philanthropy websites list these public filings.

The contributions listed on this filing only include conntributions and donations from this one foundation. Any other contributtions either of them made or they jointly made would not be included on this filing. Jolie's separate foundation that funds the millenium village in Cambodia, the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Project, costs millions of dollars funding the wildlife preserve, the builidng of a factory, businesses, scholl, medical facilities, roads, infrastructure, etc. The Cambodian donations probably includes the money from Pax's photos - that wildlife preserve I think extends into Vietnam, - and I doubt are tax deductible to Jolie.

This filing also doesn't include her substantial donations that the UNHCR says she makes to them since direct contributions to the UN for general activities are also not tax deductible.

This filing only covers contributions and disbursements (i.e., donations to charitable organizations) from July 10, 2006 through December 31, 2006. And, obviously it only covers donations made through this one foundation.

Anyone who can find the gall to b1tch about this level of generosity has a screw loose or is just looking for something to complain about.

As for Paul Newman and Bill Gates. Both of them got started pretty late in life to philanthropy. Bill Gates had been super, super rich for a long time before he ever got interested in any kind of giving. Both Newman and Gates employ personnel to publicize their charitable activities. An old High School friend of mine works for one of Newman's charities and they are constantly seeking to spread the word about his work and get contributors and big names involved. That's a good thing - it's not being a wh0re at all. Good causes need to be publicized and people like to see the charity or cause validated by big names and big donations. That's just the nature of philanthropy. If Newman or Gates don't get the same coverage as Jolie or Pitt, it's pretty obvious why. They simply are not as targeted.

By the way, the Jolie Pitt Foundation disbursed 25.9% of its assets to charity in that 6 month period of time covered by the tax forms. That is an incredibly high rate. The law only requires that you disburse at least 5% of a foundation's assets. Further, the foundation's administrtive costs were extremely low for its large endowment of over $8 million. That clearly shows me that Jolie and Pitt are covering many legitimate foundation costs and overhead out of their own pockets.

81. Hey # 1, If you didn't know it Skankie and brangie are spending $20 million on a house jusrt so they can stay there what 2 weeks. If they want to be so saintly they should give 20 million to charity!!! And how do you know that Madonna doesn't give just as much or if not morre to charity, she and other stars just don't annouce it! But skankie has a movie coming out so she needs to put her charity stuff out there, so people will watch her movie!!
