Brit Brit: The Cure for Global Warming?

Instead of putting Britney's wardrobe from "How I Met Your Mother" in a HAZMAT bag and burying it in the desert -- her rags are being auctioned off for an organization that's all about the environment.

The half-dozen items worn by the popwreck-in-repair are part of an online auction that will benefit the Natural Resources Defense Council. The auction begins Monday night -- right after the Spears episode hits the airwaves.

No word on if panties are included, but given Brit's fashion history -- we're guessing there aren't any to give away.

31. Harvey Levin won't be happy until Britney is dead. How will you make your money now, that she has supportive people around her, helping her to recover? It's a good thing Harvey doesn't have paps creeping around in HIS life. They just might catch him with the boys he pays to sleep with his tired old ass.

32. ALL YOU WHO SAY "GIVE HER A BREAK"- She brought this on herself with her insane behaviour.

33. They should still burn any underwear (if she even wore any) and bury THAT in the desert. GAWD, she's such a skank!

34. Why are you still taking cheap shots at this girl? She was in the middle of a mental breakdown. Shes getting better. Sometimes I wonder who is sicker, Bipolar Britney, or 30mz

35. Would you like to meet a real woman? Not some bimbo, brainless gland of a person -- but someone of power, depth and\
accomplishment. OK, then. Oprah may want to endorse her ...

What if I called you up -- broke right into an enthused stride, saying: " Would you join me for lunch today? Nothing fancy or obsequiously gourmet, just pure and simple stuff."

You'd, being of sound mind and body, probably say: "That sounds nice. You're, I'm sure nice, too, but I really have, you know, these commitments. You see?"

I completely understand, I would remark. But what if I told you that I am bringing with me someone that you may want to meet. Yes, someone who, due to their own inimitable, driven self, had overcome these huge obstacles and, this is for your ears only:
".... Really did change the world."

You'd possibly say, " Wow, that'd be something ...."

The interesting thing is, no one would know this story unless someone had written it. No one would -- or could possibly -- know what had happened, unless the person allowed this to breathe in the light of our uncommon day. In this case, Janine's husband, our narrator.

Do you think that people could believe the power of this one-hundred twenty-seven pound woman, who pulled up stakes from her well-paying investment analyst position, only to have a run at solving the world's problems -- the environment, an awful war and other calamities; and, if this would not be enough, found a way to mentor a woman who needed a whole new life and would quite possibly pass this education on to others .... it's wonderful, continuous circle this process ... it' s the education of the soul, knowledge passed on to glean answers , meaning. Results mean compensation. Earnings equal freedom to be. To pass the torch to others, is not a slight goal.

It is the complete closed loop of meaning and growth.

Would you want to hear the whole story?

It's done. Sealed in time and a faithful husband's hand -- who could not keep this to himself.

Would you please join me? Oh, you can not make it? I understand. I'd be more than happy to provide the whole story. The rather short novel is this story. Should you want to read a copy of this life impacting many lives, please let me know. I'd love to send you the story, 'SHE 's GOT A TICKET TO RIDE".

37. Seriously TMZ! You all really need to get a life! Really? Is this the best you could do? Just let it go.

She's working hard and getting her life back together. Why don't you find someone new to hate on?

Posted at 8:30PM on Mar 23rd 2008 by shut up already!

38. working hard and getting her life together ?????? She is under complete restriction to do almost EVERYTHING. She has more restriction than a 10 year old. She cannot do what she wants. We will all see what happens when the conservators are not there. She did a song called "crazy" and a song called "toxic" and she became both those songs.

41. With all the poor baby turtles dying out on the highways, should we really be caring if a young lost idiot does good on a so-so TV show?

You know; I never wear panties and no one follows me around 24/7! I suck as a parent, I smoke, I talk on my cell phone while driving diagonally across parking lots, my friends are dumber than Paris Hilton, I like to drink a few good cold beers regularly, I've gained weight recently, I can't act or sing worth a shot, and You Are NOT a friggin' Perfect Person either! GET A LIFE you Sheep!

42. To Howard: it's indeed within the realm of possibility that Britney's recent problems could all be attributed to her being drugged by her friends, but it is not at all probable. Britney has been making immature, poorly thought out, self-destructive choices ever since she has been on her own in the world, and that goes back before the days of Sam or even of K-Fed.

Drugs might have made a small contribution to some of her more recent antics, but keep in mind that when Britney was admitted to the hospital, her drug tests were negative. Much more of the responsibility for Britney's actions falls on her. She never had a chance to grow up, and she has consistently behaved at an early-teen emotional level while trying to deal with the adult world. The result of this is that she seems to have a habit of hurting her own causes and sabotaging her own interests.

Let's contrast Britney with some other "pop tarts", such as LiLo and Paris Hilton. Although both of these women have also behaved like spoiled, immature, selfish attention-whores, each of them eventually seems to have learned from her mistakes, and both of them are now managing their lives and careers in positive ways (for them), and they are no longer making public fools of themselves and hurting their own interests.

Britney also seems to be on that track, but unlike LiLo and Paris, she is under the control of her father. Therefore, the jury is still out about whether or not Britney has actually learned anything. Although I wish her the best, I also am concerned about what will happen after the conservatorship ends. Unless Britney has started to grow up and is finally learning how to take responsibility for her life and for the choices she makes, she could go right back to her old ways as soon as she is able.

Time will tell ...

43. When Paris Hilton was going to jail, all TMZ wrote was how fantastic Paris is. It was sickening.

What's your fight with Britney Spears? She not paying you enough?

This is a disgusting piece of crap you wrote. Nasty. The woman is fighting for her life and family, goes out and does some work, and you trash her. You are despicable. Seems to me people don't like YOU very much at all. You couldn't auction off your socks and you know it.
