Brit Sings in Church? Get the Flock Outta Here!

A report from overseas says that Britney Spears is going to sing at Mel Gibson's church next month. As funny as it sounds, it just ain't true.
Britney Spears, Mel Gibson
Brit would perform a "gospel-style number" for Mel and his parishioners, according to the Mirror. The paper even quotes a source that says Britney might "have a new song written for her for the occasion."

But Mel's rep tells us there isn't "an ounce of truth to it." Looks like she'll have to find salvation another way.

46. I expect TMZ to wipe out those spam ads like msg. #45 ("Work from home!"), but perhaps they left that one here in the hope that Britney herself might take a look at it. I'm sure she could use some extra cash now that she's on a $1,500/week allowance and has to stay at home a lot.

Of course, now that Britney has been named C.E.O. of the newly reorganized Bear Stearns, her income is going to be skyrocketing.

Oh, but now we hear that "there isn't an ounce of truth" to that Bear Stearns story.

47. She may sing that track off her latest album, 'Blackout', entitled, 'Get Naked (I Got A Plan) '. That'll liven up a dull service.

49. I can't imagine Britney singing in public, let alone a church!! I'm sure it was just a rumor gone bad. Believe me, even at Britney's peak, she couldn't "hold a candle" do better and more legitimate singers.

50. Skyblue, the Catholic church invites all to worship and receive a blessing in the communion line. We Catholics don't exclude divorced people of other faiths from coming in the door as you imply.

Someone should inform the priest at St. Bernard of Clairvaux in Scottsdale. At that church, non -Catholics are not welcome in the communion line. Per the priest, there is no provision in canon law for a blessing at communion.

52. MammaG I so enjoy TMZ and the airheads they bring forth information on. I teach Biochem to medical school students so I do not get to see the pinhead side of young ladies. The ladies in my class have all worked hard to be where they are. The young ladies have a clear head and an even clearer vision of where their life is headed. I have seen none of the young ladies showing their private areas to the public nor have any of them shaved their heads. The last experience I had viewing Spears was her comeback. She was way too heavy for the clothing she wore. The fat behind was not very becoming to a young lady. Spears attempt at singing and dancing had many professional people snickering.

53. No, this story is not true at all. Mel's Traditional Catholic Church would have no profane music of any kind during Mass. The only allowable music during a Traditional Latin Mass is Gregorian Chant. This is not the same as a Novus Ordo Catholic Church that might even have "guitar Masses." Reporters really should do a little fact-checking before they run a story.

54. With all the poor baby turtles dying out on the highways, should we really be caring if a young lost idiot does good on a so-so TV show?

You know; I never wear panties and no one follows me around 24/7! I suck as a parent, I smoke, I talk on my cell phone while driving diagonally across parking lots, my friends are dumber than Paris Hilton, I like to drink a few good cold beers regularly, I've gained weight recently, I can't act or sing worth a shot, and You Are NOT a friggin' Perfect Person either! GET A LIFE you Sheep!

55. Chilly Reception at Church: Sorry to hear that happened to you. I'm Catholic, went to Catholic schools and sent my kids as well, and have lived in 4 countries and thus attended church all over the place. I've never heard of what you describe. Where I live now, in Seattle, both the archdiocese cathedral and the tiny church attached to my sons' school do what was always done when I was growing up - they announce an invitation for those of other faiths to come forward in the communion line and receive a blessing. Same deal when I went to church in Paris, in Prague, I just cant imagine what happened to you...unless you're going to one of the odd cultish offshoot churches not unlike Mel's.
