Gossip & Rumors
What the Hell Are the Jacksons Doing Now?!

Who knew Motown would lead to skid row? Did you know that the majority of the Jackson family is broke and scrapping for cash -- doing odd jobs like stocking shelves at supermarkets and working on cars to make ends meet?

According to a crazazy report by the New York Post, most of the Jackson clan isn't fairing too well financially -- some of the Jackson boys are even still living at home! Check out a rundown of the current state of events.

Michael is on the verge of losing Neverland ranch as well as the family's Encino, Calif., home. He is currently hiding out in Las Vegas.

Marlon stocks shelves at a Vons supermarket in San Diego, and had to temporarily move into an extended-stay hotel with his wife.

Tito formed a band and plays at small gigs for $500 to $1,500.

Randy does odd jobs for income. He acted as Michael's business manager during the 2005 molestation trial, but ran into problems with friends after he persuaded three people to take out lines of credits against their homes to help Michael pay his attorney fees and Michael stiffed them!

Jackie had a failed Internet clothing business and tries to produce. He still lives at home with his parents.

Jermaine splits time between the parents home and his girlfriend's home. He has more than $5 million in federal, state and other liens against him and a 1995 bankruptcy filing. He does not work and is still involved in a messy, protracted divorce.

Janet is the current breadwinner of the family. She bought her mom a Vegas home in anticipation of losing the family's mansion to foreclosure.

La Toya is all but shunned from the family for declaring Michael guilty during the 1993 molestation case. She earns a living mostly in Europe judging beauty and singing contests. She lives with a wealthy boyfriend in Beverly Hills and has little contact with her siblings.

Rebbie married successful businessman Nathaniel Brown.

Daddy Joe still thinks the Jackson family can get it together, saying, "We can get back out there and set the world on fire. If the Rolling Stones can still rake in the money, so too can my boys." Riiiiight.

121. Comment 109 - Travis................There is just one MAJOR problem Travis, he owes $265 million using the Beatles catalog as collateral. Also, for the past 15 years, he has been spending money faster than he can make it. He has also burned hundreds of people by not paying bills, including Las Vegas merchants who were dumb enough to let him charge upwards of $2 million at their stores. He owes easily $50 million in unpaid bills including a loan of $7 million from the Sultan of Brunai who was kind enough to also let him live rent free in Bahrain for nearly 2 years. The Sultan set him up in a $4.5 million mansion in Las Vegas and he totally trashed it, moving out and leaving it looking like a scene from skid row. His kids used the walls to paint pictures and the Christmas decorations were up and rotting all over the house in July. Las Vegas reporters toured the house and it appeared to never have been cleaned. The Sultan has filed suit against Michael. He owes millions in attorney fees to various law firms and suits are pending for bills ranging from $100,000 to millions. He only pays when pressed to the wall if they can attach an asset. The perfect example of the Jackson's sheer lunacy is to let storage fees go into default and losing the vast bulk of their memorabilia to auction which could have netted them millions. The income from the Beatles catalog goes into a bank lockbox and the bank interest is paid first, about $17 million per year, then there are taxes on the full amount due quarterly. Now attorneys and accountants demand cash up front. So there is not that much left to squander.

122. If the Jackson 5 are really interested in getting back together, they should consider that Uncle Mike is a superstar, and unlikely to want to front them any more. They should be looking at their sons and nephews to see which of them have inherited Uncle Mike's talent. The lead singer of the J5 was twelve when those songs were popular. Just sayin'

124. The original writer of this hack piece is Stacy Brown, the estranged brother in law of Rebbie Jackson. This hit job is one of a number he has created to make a few dollars off of the Jackson family. If you believe this you must believe everything Fox News has to say. The own their own publishing companies worth tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars. The smear campaign against Michael Jackson made tens of millions of dollars for the news media and tens of millions of dollars for the attorneys.
Why do you suppose America is attacking the Jacksons today? Does this have anything to do with the fact that Obama is running for president? Think about it people. The first family of Black America, the most famous family in the whole world.
This is a great way to make black people look inferior to everyone stupid enough to believe this crap. Marlon Jackson owns a supermarket in San Diego.

Everything Lane has written is true. Those of you who seem incapable of believing that one can make millions in the music industry then end up broke, know NOTHING about how the industry works. An artist can sell millions but the label deducts expenses (marketing, promotion, those expensive music videos, etc.) up front, BEFORE the artist gets a dime (except for a small signing bonus). Even with a gold or platinum seller, it is not unusual for the artist's share to be only a couple of hundred thousand (or less). That amount is minuscule when you are trying to support an opulent lifestyle. If any of you remember, TLC
went public about this when their hit release sold in the millions ,yet they each ended up with only about $50,000. Few artists reach the level of a Madonna, a JT or a Janet Jackson, in a position to negotiate millions UP FRONT rather than be subject to the "creative" back-end accounting of the labels.

The Jackson story is the same fate that will befall most of today's successful rap artists. They have money but no education. Those who are incapable of speaking in complete sentences are also incapable of reading a balance sheet -- THEIR OWN balance sheets. And their families (people who actually care about them) also have no formal education or any experience with finances, so they are at the mercy of agents and managers. It is not limited to the music industry -- the same is true of sports (Mike Tyson) and any industry where uneducated people (mostly blacks) stumble into wealth. The old adage is true: "A FOOL AND HIS MONEY ARE SOON PARTED." Get an education kids, if you want to have any control over your financial destiny.

126. the jacksons are pioneers...new edition, boyz II men, B2K, INSYNC, Backstreet Boys and the like all owe the Jacksons respect and admiration. Every family has indiscretions and ups and downs. The good thing is the Jacksons are one world tour away from making millions. Hopefully they can get it together and make the money due them and dissolve their financial short comings. There still are and will always be millions of people throughout the world that will pay big money to see the Jacksons perform.

127. Do any of them still have their real noses? How pathetic! I used to love listening to them when I was a kid 35 years ago. Looks like most of them still haven't grown up and become responsible.

134. The Jackson't broke, yeah right. And the moon is make of cream cheese. My thoughts are that they all have nice big nest eggs sitting in off shore accounts where nobody can get their hands on it.

OK in fairness TMZ may well have access to all of the Jackson's personal bank accounts, I bet Michael is having a good chuckle at these stories, after all the only way the liars and shysters that have sued him for the most ridiculous reasons will stop is when they think he has no money for them to get their greedy hands on. These stories must suit him, in fact he should have put them out himself.

The Jacksons have been way too generous especially Michael, $300 million to charity in various fund raising songs and donations according to the Guiness Book of Records, after the way he has been treated he should have kept it for himself. Hopefully the stories of him and some of the others moving to the UK, or spending most of their time there are true, they will get more respect there and we are not so eager to believe all the garbage that the tabloid media circulate. The real problem the Jackson's have is that they were too sucessful, too nice and far too black!
