George Clooney is NOT a Fashion Plate

In case you were hoping to sit front row at George Clooney's next fashion show, sorry. Reports that Clooney is developing his own clothing line are untrue. (Booooo.)

Clooney, by way of his rep, issued TMZ the following statement: "This is a HOAX. I have no connection whatsoever with any clothing line bearing my name, and more specifically GC EXCLUSIVE by George Clooney."

'Nuff said.

7. Clooney's a cool dude - talented, funny, and a compassionate human being. I met him once at a Hollywood party I was lucky enough to attend ( and I am not someone who travels in those circles, I'm just a regular guy who lucked out through a friend of a friend to get invited), and he was really friendly, smart and talkative. He was the coolest, most down-to-earth guy there. I'm a fan, the guy's got class.

14. New York Post columnist Liz Smith wrote Sunday that while Clooney was accepting an award from the National Board of Review last week, he said that "Charlton Heston announced again today that he is suffering from Alzheimer's."

When Smith asked the actor if he went too far with his remarks, Clooney -- who's against the gun lobby -- responded, "I don't care. Charlton Heston is the head of the National Rifle Association; he deserves whatever anyone says about him."

According to the Internet Movie Database, Heston responded to Clooney's remarks by noting the "class" of the actor's late aunt, singer-actress Rosemary Clooney.

"It just goes to show that sometimes class does skip a generation," Heston was reported as saying.

15. WASHINGTON - An estimated 5.2 million Americans have Alzheimer’s disease, and it could steal the minds of one out of eight baby boomers, according to a report released on Tuesday by the Alzheimer’s Association.

The report found there were 411,000 new cases of Alzheimer’s in 2000, a number expected to grow to 454,000 new cases a year by 2010. By 2050, 959,000 people will be diagnosed with the disease every year, the report predicts.

The report says that 14 percent of all people age 71 and over have dementia.
