We caught Jessica Simpson coming out of a Chili's in Encino this afternoon and asked her a ton of questions -- about Tony, Ashlee and Lane Garrison.

But our guy missed the best question of all -- why is Jessica Simpson eating at a Chili's?

46. Well I won't argue. I doubt I will encounter her. I admire her success in the clothing, perfume, shoe, jewelry and other lines. Music didn't do it. "The Newlyweds" did and she has made the most of it. Also, I love Romo so don't make me defend him ok? Geez, I feel loke a Jessica nut but I'm really not. I just don't like to bash people much. There is always another side to celebritys we don't know..
