46. A study over seas has determined that all people with blue eyes are related. Blue eyes are a genetic defect that can be linked to one person thousands of years ago who was one of only a thousand survivors of some catastophic event. That one person had a genetic defect, blue eyes... human eyes were supposed to be brown. Anyway that one person had a kid, then they had a kid and so on passing the defective gene down the line, now look, millions of people have blue eyes. I thought this was neat. If you have blue eyes , I am related to you..and anyone else, rich or poor. Cool.

47. whew..just popped online to say thanks for the geneology article TMZ. I was also a chopper pilot doing dust off missions during the TET offensive before flying U2 recon over Tehran in the 70s, eventually single-handedly freeing the hostages. 53. This goes to show that white and blacks may have bad history, but we are more related than any other two races. It all goes to slavery, when the slave owners were having kids with the slaves. If you look at a black person's DNA and a white person's DNA they will have more similarities than a white person and an asian. Even though whites and asians may have similar skin color and hair. Yet we are the two who hate each other the most

Just to answer you're somewhat random question, some random information:
"I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree" is the first line of the best known poem by Joyce Kilmer. He went to high school at Rutgers Preparatory in New Jersey (the only reason I know much about him, I went to the same school) and died in WW1. He wrote other poems and is hailed by some but his work always sound like doggerel to me.

56. You are first cousins once removed with your first cousin's children. Your children and your first cousins children are second cousins. I know this because I am from the south and everyone here traces their lineage. My mother has traced her family tree to the 15th century.

great-grandparents, 16 2xgreats, 32 3xgreats, 64 4xgreats, 128
5xgreats, 256 6-greats, 1024 7xgreats, and 2048 8xgreats; yeah, many
of these people start being the same people and everyone starts being
related to everybody else. I know somebody who is his own 11th cousin
once removed. Gotta start worrying about that inbreeding.

Genealogical research is popular all through this country. My family hasn't bothered to trace beyond this shore but I go back to early 1700's and my husband's family came over on the Mayflower. Of course, this doesn't begin to compare to the FFV or the Spanish settlers of Mexico and California or, as you say, the French settlers of Louisiana.
