Sandler Pal Popped for Pap Fight

Allen CovertUPDATE: Covert was arrested by LAPD and taken to the Wilshire Division police station, but he was not booked. LAPD tells us the matter is still under investigation.

Allen Covert, who has co-starred in over a dozen movies with Adam Sandler, was arrested on the set of his latest Sandler collaboration after he got into it with a photographer.

Covert was arrested by the LAPD at around 6:00 PM PT on the set of "Bedtime Stories." He was charged with battery and was eventually released.

We're told Covert approached the pap -- who was on the sidewalk outside the high school where they were filming -- argued with him, spat on him and tried to slap the camera out of his hand. Covert was upset because he thought the photographer was filming his kid.

We're also told Sandler was on set at the time with his daughter. Guy Pearce and Courteney Cox-Arquette also star in the movie and were there as well and saw the whole thing go down.

26. The pap deserved it. You guys just don't know when to quit. I have worked w/ him before and he is a very nice guy. Pap's, like i've said before, need to review their boundaries and morals. Seriously. Get over yourself and get a REAL job.

30. i am writing to tell you about the unjustice that is it ok to steal from a large company and the boss keeps his job while i turn mine in and i lose my job months later and have not had a job in 2 years while the boss is still employeed while i am losing everything around me first my friends my family including my marriage and my home no money at all to speak off this is not justice i have evidence that was swept under the rug and i cant get a job and i am getting very sick and am afraid since i dont have any medical coverage i am going to have a nervous brake down or even worst . i live at 353 van nostrand avenue jersey city nj 07305 if you need to get intouch with me by phone my number is 201 253-5988 not many minutes left on my phone at this moment so have 9 is a good time or visit so you can see what kind of predicatement i am in. i was a good person too many but my fortunes have gone south and my belief that honesty pays is sure taking a bite out of my rear and everywhere else i hope you take this seriously and see if you can do anything to make my situation bearable again.
