76. Let's face it, while David is a great singer, he comes across as an emotional train wreck waiting to happen a lot of times when on stage. He almost acts like a puppy that's been beaten but is still trying to wag it's tail or something. It's obvious that SOMETHING is going on at home that's kept him at an emotional 12-year old level.

Stay out, Dad. You obviously didn't make it in life - let your kid follow his own path and HOPE that when he gets older he doesn't decide to dump you in a home and forget you exist. The past will always come back to haunt you.

OKAY.. soo David is my favorite i am a HUGE HUGE, possibly one of the BIGGEST David Archuleta fans and honestly i believe David chose this song for the simple fact he does have a diverse unique choice in music which i love! and they get a list of songs to choose from and i seen the list on some website and Madonna and Mariah songs were on there and some others but honestly could you see David singing a song by them or of that sort? umm noo! if you are a david fan or even if your not obviously you should know that..soo i DO believe David chose this song..

and another thing.. weather David has family issues or not nothing in that poor boys life is going too be privite again.. which is sad and i hope they can keep some sort of privacy! he's sucha great boy, humble, awesome personality and obviously the biggest sweetie you could see! and i would absolutly HATE and i underline HATE too see hollywood try too distroy him but i think he's WAY BETTER THAN THAT! AND ACTUALLY HAS A GOOD HEAD ON HIS SHOLDERS!

82. Don't believe this TMZ gossip. I'm sure if you actually talked to Jeff and David it would be something totally blown out of paportion.
Jeff Archuleta must be doing somethng right!
Look at David, he's doing pretty good. I think David Archuleta is his own worse enemy at time, with his confidence. He even mentioned that.
Also, this is got to be a hugh stress factor with the competion and all the Gossip Garbage out here on him. Also he is the youngest there. It don't appear that everyone is all that nice to him either. I been seeing things on the shows. Looks a certain person gives him. Not to mention, Fox cutt him out a couple of camera shots. What's up with that.

83. First... all those who know the family personally say that Jeff isn't a demanding stage father. I'll believe them before some 2nd rate report trying to make a name for themselves. 2nd... David is only 17. In my opinion as a parent, a parent SHOULD BE very involved in a positive way at this state in his life. 3rd... I absolutely LOVED the song, both by David Archuleta and by John Farnham. Personally, I think it appeared as though Simon didn't like the song more than the way David sang it. Maybe Simon doesn't even like John Farnham.

84. Unfortunately, all snarkiness about Jeff is VERY TRUE. He has put so much pressure on David that those of us who actually KNOW them, can verify with total clarity that Jeff is truly the prototype of the “Stage Father from Hell”

Lupe, on the other hand, is a beautiful, loving, sweet mother who is home taking care of her other children while Jeff is left to dog his son from hour to hour and place to place.

The story on the net about Jeff’s hammering David and making him cry is absolutely true. We understand about tabloids and their desire to spread the dirtiest of stuff, but in this case, the news is really the news.

We so hope that the producers will get on to Jeff and get him out of the way. Jeff’s ugliness comes from the fact that David is the family’s meal ticket. Truly. And has been since he was a very young boy.

Re: any of you who might think that David’s innocence and sweetness are phony — well, if you knew him you would know that he is as he appears — genteel, kind, caring, and loving but under so much pressure that I hold my breath every day that he won’t implode.

I am simply too old for the task, but perhaps a couple of you others with comments could get together and create a diversion while another couple of you throw Jeff under a bus. He is just along to live vicariously through his son and push, push, push him to ever greater heights.

Unfortunately, I know that the ugliness of Jeff that as portrayed in the press is absolutely TRUE. David is the meal ticket and so must be pushed, pushed, pushed. Think “Daddy Dearest” and you’ve got a pretty good picture.

We can hardly wait until David is of age and can emancipate himself from Jeff. Again, Lupe is a delight but the exact polar opposite of Jeff. Think about it, here she is in Utah holding down the fort while Jeff is strutting about being “David’s Dad” and creating mischief wherever he is. Give me a break! He’s a creepazoid (I don’t even know if that’s a word). What I have written is true, comes from my grandmotherly side, the side that just wants to protect David from Mr. Over-Bearing

90. i disagree with simon. it wasnt davids best preformance, but the song is good.
and im pretty sure david picks all of his own songs. im sure his father helps him out or whatever, but what business is that of ours.
