"Dancing With Stars" Dances with Truth

DWTSSo you think all those performances on "Dancing with the Stars" are arranged by the professional dancers, like Cheryl Burke? Think again, people.

Our spies -- and they're unimpeachable -- tell us many of the routines are arranged by outside choreographers, especially when it comes to the "younger, less experienced" professional dancers, like Burke, Kym Johnson, Derek Hough, and his sis, Julianne.

The show makes it appear as if the professional partners create all the moves for the celeb contestants -- but that's just not the case. All that rehearsal video is a little deceptive -- we're just sayin'.

One source says, "Cheryl Burke is the worst" when it comes to arranging her own material. She relies heavily on outside help.

BTdubs, we shot video of Cheryl Burke with one of the professional choreographers -- Wendy Johnson -- outside an L.A. restaurant. We're told Wendy worked on the dance that won Drew Lachey the cheesy trophy.

For the record, Cheryl's rep says any insinuation that she gets outside help is a "blatant lie," adding that Wendy Johnson is a good friend of Cheryl's -- she's known her since she was 11 or 12-years-old. Also, the rep says, Cheryl "spends Tuesday night choreographing her routines in her apartment."

An ABC source says it's not against the rules for the dancers to use outside help.

61. I think it is a big deal and very deceptive. Especially when you've got the judges saying what big fans they are of Cheryl's, Derek's and Julianne's choreography. And especially since they've given 2 of them back-to-back wins. So then you've got the gullible public thinking that they're the best choregraphers when they don't do it on their own, unlike Maks, Tony, Edyta...Of course Burke's rep is going to say it's a lie. And why all of a sudden isn't it against the rules to use outside help? I always heard that it was. I guess it's all right for the American dancers to do it, since they're the only ones that get rewarded on that crap show. I also feel that the voting means nothing and that the whole thing is rigged.

62. Actually, Louis has been used to choreograph Pro-group dances. He hasn't been used to choreograph for the Pro/Celeb dances, except his own.

66. I thought the whole point of this show was to see 'famous people' learn to dance. Not everybody can dance. Not everybody has rhythm. I don't care who does the choreography, the point is, it is up to the 'professional dancers' to teach a non dancer how.

The part I am really interested in is the improvement seen after each week. As far as the judging is concerned. I think the judges should be allowed to give their advice WITHOUT ARGUMENT from either the crowd or the dancers and their partners. After all it is constructive criticism to be used for improvement.

As far as I'm concerned Kristi Yamaguchi has it hands down. I'm just interested as to whether there is room left for improvement. :)

67. Cheryl is a fraud now on top of the other insinuations about her. Honestly, I think she's over and done with in this career.
Would you want your husband or boyfriend to be paired up to dance with her? I wouldn't. Disney should not renew her contract when it's up. Family show.

68. Oh yes, they should all give up their Emmy nominations immediately to the REAL choreographers that come up with the routines they submit for the Emmy awards. Stealing someone else's work is stealing someone else's work. It's no better than Plagiarism in an academic environment
