Richie Off the Wagon -- Popped For DUI

TMZ has learned Richie Sambora was arrested for DUI in Laguna Beach, Calif.

Law enforcement sources tell us the Bon Jovi guitarist was pulled over by the Laguna Beach PD just before 11:00 PM last night. Cops say they observed him driving erratically in a black Hummer and pulled him over. He failed numerous field sobriety tests and was detained for DUI.

At the station, a cooperative Sambora opted to take a blood test rather than blow into a breathalyzer. Laguna Beach PD tells TMZ there's no indication of drugs.

Sambora was released around 4:00 AM this morning.

In 2007, Richie had not one, but two stints in rehab.

A spokesperson for Bon Jovi had no comment.

61. maybe he needs to tell his family just how sorry he is , one running around with your wife best friend. hurt the wife and child
that stood beside you thru the tough times. he needs to get on his needs and say just how sorry he is, maybe he just
can't live with what he has done to his family and friends

i don't feel sorry for him he is nothing but a drunk. needs to learn how to cope with problems in your life
we all have to do that. just another case that too much money

62. This is proof that rehab doesn't just magically get you sober unless you actually believe you have a problem and want to quit and are willing to do some work yourself.

Has it gotten bad enough for you Richie, or do you still think you can control it?

64. I have to wonder WHY he would decide to pull this stupid stunt mid-tour!!!!!! And why with Ava??? I always thought more of him than this. He will soon find out how it feels to lose the respect he has had for so many years!!!

69. If every one was perfect, we would be living in a fantasy world. But in reality… everyone is not perfect…

Richie is a great guy, and a talented musician… who happens to be living in the real world…. he made a mistake and hopefully he’ll learn by it… or call me the next time he needs ride : )

71. Oh my God. This is ridiculous. I have been a HUGE fan of Bon Jovi since I was like two, and I have always admired Richie for his talent. But this here.. is UNACCEPTABLE!!! He has his 10-YEAR-OLD daughter in the truck along with another child, and another woman beside him- WHO WAS TOLD by Ms. Locklear (might I add) to drive home his daughter home. That woman could have easily taken the keys from him IF she wasn't drinking at the time, this is not yet known. This is the most dumbest thing that Richie could have done so far. YES he is human, and we ALL make mistakes, but if he knows that he has his daughter with him, he shouldn't drink and drive. I lost my cousin in a car accident due to a drunk driver, so him behind the wheel. even if he has a TRACE amount of alcohol in his system, is unacceptable and inexcusable. I feel sympathy for his daughter. You would think that going to rehab twice in one year might do the trick, but unfortunately, it didn't work for Richie. Richie- It's time that you get your act together and leave the alcohol behind. Drink when you are home, not out on the road. It's time that you start being a good role model for your daughter. I know you have been through a lot these past few years, but alcohol is NEVER the answer and just this act alone really ruins your image as well as the bands image to society alone. It's time to get your head out of your ass and go sober for a while. You are 59 years old, I think it's time for you to drop the bottle and fly straight. As a fan, you have my support, but you need to stop drinking for awhile and get your head straight.

73. This is very sad but it could have been much worse. He is just lucky that he was pulled over and that he did not cause an accident and kill his own daughter and other innocent people. Guess he will be going back to rehab.
