17. Ahh...Dear old Gloria....Did anyone notice that at the end she said they could have just patted her down?? I feel that if they had patted her down then she wouldnt be suing them for pulling out her nipple rings...she would be suing them for sexual harrassment! Come Gloria open up your friggin mind the only reason your doing this is becuase you don't have a very good reputation...Hi look at old Peg Leg...My nose ring goes off in certian metal detectors and of course you can see it but I have gotten to the point where I put in a retainer...This woman should have been smart enough to do that instead of claiming that she couldn't take out the rings herself....If You Can't Change Them Yourself cuase they are TOO SMALL...why did she have such small ones in???

18. I personally *had* nipple piercings (& another one in a private place). I traveled quite often after 9/11 including out of the country. Not once did the metal detector go off , or were they detected in a pat down. Proper body jewelery is surgical steel and does not set off metal detectors. Unless this woman had poor quality jewelry or the piercings were visible through her clothing it is BS that TSA became involved at all! However, simply patting them down or viewing them to make sure they weren't hazardous should have been enough.

Keeping your body jewelry on when traveling does NOT make the wearer dense or stupid! That is an ignorant statement to make. Just because someone has chosen to have piercings does not diminish their intelligence level. You'd be very surprised at the people around you that do have piercings!

Well, I guess I can understand how people think that with the people that are seen in the media with their piercings. LOL

21. Okay, this is a weird one! Obviously, we can't just smile and wink at folks who make metal detectors beep at airports just because they states they have a peircing. That is crazy! (and lady, if you have a soft metal like gold for your piercings, they won't make the detector beep).

I do not know enough about what went on to have an opinion on who may be in the wrong. Did they take her aside ask her to remove the jewelry right there in front of them? Did they ask her to remove the jewelry and come back through the line? Did they physically see the jewelry and still ask her to remove it? How was the woman acting? Does anyone know?

I do not understand the touching part and cannot imagine any possible reason for it. Gloria said something about they felt it, and she put a hand over one breast. Did they feel for the piercing, or for a gun or other explosive device? Was she in line when the did it, like part of a frisk? Was it like "let me frisk your boob or I have to strip search you? Was it before or after she took off the jewelry? This is too weird!

22. Come on! Surely she is not the first person to try to board a plane wearing nipple rings, naval rings and crotch rings. There are some piercings that need to be taken out by professionals with the right equipment (so I've heard). Thank God they don't make people with joint replacements remove their hips!

30. I travel all the time all over the world and have both nipples pierced. One time and one time only it caused a problem and I had to remove my shirt privately for a female screener. I had no problem with it. Why should I? They are only doing their job. I kinda wonder why the nipple rings were asked to be removed and think there is more to this story than we are hearing.
