Allred Goes Tit-for-Tat with the TSA

Gloria Allred held a press conference today demonstrating how TSA agents forced her client to remove her nipple piercings.

Yeah, it was as ridiculous as it sounds.

121. I think the TSA agents in Lubbock were wrong. And no one has mentioned that even after she removed her nipple rings she was allowed to board the plane with a BELLY ring still on...???? Doesn't that just seem stupid?

122. The moral of the story, don't get nipple rings. If the skin tends to grow over them and enough scar tissue builds up that it is painful to reinsert them, then it's probably wise to leave them out. If you choose to get them anyway then you have to deal with the consequences, which is what this lady had to do. It's common sense and I hope this attorney gets paid big time by her to lose this case and she is held responsible for the court costs so the taxpayers in Lubbock don't have to. Just another example of how Tort reform is highly needed. This is frivilous at best. We live in a different country than we did 10 years ago, you have to be willing to comply with airport security when it comes to anything that sets off those scanners. It's for our own safety and I applaud the agents for erring on the side of caution rather than just letter her through. If a terrorist decides to tape a blade to his/her nipple and tell the agents that it's a nipple ring and they let them through we have another hijacked plane running into another public building. Sorry lady, no sympathy from me.

123. I spoke to a representative from TSA because , quite frankly, I fly out of Lubbock alot and was a bit concerned. However, after getting both sides of the story, I'd have to say I understand where the employees were coming from. Security is security and I honestly believe that they were only following proper procedures. Typically a piercing would come out with no problem so I believe this was a pretty isolated incident ( I mean really...how many women fly). Additionally, what if the women had wired some type of bra bomb ( I know this sounds kinda funny but you never know). Unfortunately these days one can not be too careful, especially after 9-11.
