33. This is the sadness I speak about concerning rap. I won't call it music because it's not. But putting your heads in dirt and not dealing with the honest facts, that rap is not music it's a thug lifestyle that has hurt the black community not helped!!

To Some rap can be uplifting listen to Lupe, Tali Kweli or Mos Def and you will understand.
To Some rap can give hope to those forced to provide for themselves or they families by any means necessary
To Some rap can be negative...
I listen to all forms of music and to say rap is not an expression therefore saying the musicians that have creative classic albums is very ignorant.
I don't want to make this a race issue but I also listen to the Rock & alternative music.

37. Eman, with all do respect, alot of people are exposed to this stuff. You never hear about Garth Brooks trying to take out Travis Tritt. You never hear about Kelly Clarkson trying beat down Carrie Underwood. No, because rap is not just a so-called music, it's a violent lifestyle that abuses women and glorifies violents. I'm older than you are and remember the 60's and 70's. There wasn't any real rap on the radar until the early eighties and then it was just a joke. When something is not postive for people, you don't call them racist if they don't agree with you. Rap has not been positive on the black community no matter how you or anyone defends it!!! We cry about 4,000 troops killed in Iraq, did you know that 25,000 black men have been killed over the last 7 years and that's an FBI figure.

But to turn this into a racial issue taking shots at our genre of music and our future President, (yes President) shows the lack of intelligence of the slugs that slime these boards with their ignorance. A real representation of woman in hip hop is JEAN GRAE. And a TRUE representation of hip hop in its finest form is the BEST to do it right now, Blu & Exile. Try google or youtube to look them up, do something constructive with yourself.

As far as the prison statistics, here's a thought. I would expect there to be LESS whites in jail, if there are ongoing disputes regarding preferential sentencing, racial profiling, and such regarding the inbalance in the sentencing of blacks and whites, which is a prime example of why the laws regarding crack and cocaine were changed. The charges and sentences were created to target poor blacks hustling in the ghettos to poor blacks. But the key ingredient in crack, cocaine, which is commonly used by whites because of its cost and ability to create the euphoric feeling faster, carried a substantially lower sentence. And you can bet your saltine ass WHEN Barak wins the Presidential election, the civil rights division he is pushing or will be created to ensure this happens no more.

Must suck to be beat at your own game at each step by a black man. hahahaha....Barak is giving it to Hillary like Bill never can right now, raw with no vaseline. McCain is next. You can throw Rev. Wright up all you'd like but what closed minded idiots fail to realize is that the WAR and ECONOMY will be the determining factors of this race.
