Oh Ma God! Remy Guilty on Four Counts

The verdict just came down in the Remy Ma trial, and the rapper has been convicted on four major charges -- two counts of first-degree assault, attempted coercion, and criminal possession of a weapon.

The charges stem from a 2007 incident in which Remy shot a friend of hers after a fight over $3,000 in cash stolen from Remy's purse. The defense tried to make the shooting an accident -- but it looks like they didn't quite convince the jury.

Remy was not found guilty of gang assault and witness tampering, among the nine total charges she faced. We're told the victim's friends and family taunted Remy when the verdicts were read -- full pandemonium in the courtroom.

Remy could face up from five to 25 years in prison at sentencing.

49. Hey MsRita - We all have choices in life. But, it seems that you want to continue to blame the white man for ALL of your problems! Get over it and get on with your damn life or continue to live with the poor me attitude. No one owes you a thing!

50. Wow am I naive and ignorant. Here I thought this story was about one person shooting another person over money. I had no idea it was really all about the racial tension in this world. Thanks for all of those posts setting me straight. So now I guess it's time to stockpile food, fuel, guns & ammo in preparation for the complete collapse of society. Works for me. I just hope that everyone who feels it's okay for someone to shoot another person over three grand and not have to face punishment will be just as understanding when I finally snap and start shooting everyone I feel has wronged me. After all, isn't that what we're really saying in all of these posts?

So I guess it's time to strap on the heaters kiddies and let's go nuts!!

I'm all for it... as long as my Kevlar vest holds out.

51. I don't think she should get 25 years. The woman who claimed remy shot her changed her story (it's on hiphopgame somewhere) on more than one occaision. I'm sorry, but she don't deserve to go because everyone knows better then to mess with black folk and our money!

52. MsRita...please enlighten me....What does your cut and paste of a 19th century slave auction ad. have to do with Remy, who shot her friend???? Oh, I forgot, it's still all slavery's fault. I know how you feel. The experience of my ancestors who were poor and starving in Ireland before they almost died immigrating to America, with NO money still holds ME back today. I know, it's hard to overcome those things THAT HAPPENED TO OTHER PEOPLE HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO. THAT'S SARCASM

53. to hell wit all u racist white trash. u got everything and u still wanna hate black people. that's sad! but the truth is it's sad she threw her life away because she couldn't leave the hood behind her. none of u white people have ever struggled like she did. if u lived her life, u suckas would have killed urself or killed a whole lot of other people. why? because u don't know what it's like 2 struggle. and all u white people know it's the truth. lmao at dat u punks!

54. 30. I was looking at some of these comments and started shaking my head.... "black thug rapper?" Wow.... Just to EDUCATE some of you..these "black thug rappers" are influenced by "white thug movies" like The Godfather, Scarface, Carlito's Way, GoodFellas and Casino. Also by an American media that glamorizes violence and a excessive lifestyle...It's unfortunate that Remy had to resort to handling the situation in the manner that she did but when our young people.. black, white whatever are constantly bombarded by these images on TV, movies and in print..this is the result. The most unfortunate thing about this is.. she has a son..who's mother is more than likely going to jail...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hey Eman, whites don't have the market cornered when it comes top putting out violent movies....."Boyz N The Hood"..."Menace To Society".....movies that glorify black on black violence...and were also directed by black men....hell, Denzel Washington won an Oscar for "Training Day", which I believe contained a few scenes of violence..and was directed by a black man...

"what's good for the goose...."

56. Agree Crow, I just wanted to ask if you realized that you just followed your accusation of racism with a racist term....all in the first sentence....double standard much?

Posted at 7:47PM on Mar 27th 2008 by me

57. And oh yeah, I didn't realize that, as a white person, I have everything. Everything?? Last time I checked I going to college full time, paying for it MYSELF, working two part time jobs, and i'm still broke and have barely no food in the fridge and no time to sleep at night. SO GET REAL. Your race of people are not victims and white people are not your villains. If you seriously think that, i feel sorry for you

58. How come you don't hear about Beyonce or Alicia Keys shooting people? I guess you need to be black AND from the ghetto in order for it to be okay to ignore the law. Compensation for the oppression i guess. Maybe Remy should have just thrown her cell phone like Tyra Banks. Oh and Argee Crow I doubt you are black. You're probably some white guy trying to stir up trouble.

59. Good for her ass. If she shot her "friend" accindental as hse claims she did then her "friend" would forgive her, but oops she's not because that dumb, ugly ass remy did the crime. So now cry all you bitch cause you are going to hell!!!
