Obviously difficult for too many who MUST fid some reason or other to deride Oprah --be it her weight, her money and how she spends it(not bothering with FACTS , such as Oprah gives to MORE than JUST black concerns but hey, why bother to note...) Think jealousy showing in much, jealousy and envy and tinged with racism too and then of course, throw in the ol' standby "insult" , must be "gay/lesbian"....LOL, fools. Guessing too few have had a friend they WOULD share with just because are FRIENDS, nothing sexual, JUST FRIENDS and loyal and care for each other and can trust each other and hey, if have been blessed and have much, no problem with sharing with another who has been their loyally, OT SEXUALLY, just a true friend which can be MORE than even anothers family member ..How many know of folks who have family membes they DO NOT and CAN NOT trust or have reason to MISTRUST or even simply do NOT LIKE ? Nice thing about FRIENDS< you can pick them, family members we have no control over who ends up being "relative"...The abhorrent snide snarking here regarding Oprah is quite uncalled for, but perhaps it gives some a boost of some wierd sort or another.

66. As for the comment about Oprah giving cars to her studio audience, I believe Pontiac furnished all the cars. Oprah did not pay for them. I could give people cars also if Pontiac would provide them.

67. Gayle King was a successful journalist in Ct, did the NEWS gig, then had her own talk show.
She was married , had children, when her husband was discovered "wandering"

She had amny opportunities to join her friend Oprah for years bu chose not to and remained in CT-

68. I think the media has blown all of this up so big that the public is loosing sight of reality! Do on to others as you would like done on to you. Is everything you do and have done under a microscope? Oprah has done so much for this country, she has shed light on things that otherwise would go under served or not served at all. As far as her and Gayle being lovers-get a clue people. Oprah has many gay people on her show and has many gay friends she openly supports!

70. I agree with the person who said if I had that kind of money I would buy my best friend anything she wanted. In fact, if I had Oprah's money, I would buy everyone I know anything they wanted! What's the point of having all that money if you can't have fun with it? And what's more fun than surprising your friends with off the wall wonderful gifts that will make them feel like they won the lottery!
Oprah has BILLIONS in case you didn't know. I think she has more money than the government... ha ha... which is so like me, deeply in debt!
I think Oprah is great. But I also agree with that other writer who said Oprah looks very sad and unsettled these days. Something in her eyes, just kind of a longing and sadness. Forget Steadmann, however you spell it, he is not good enough for her. She needs someone much hotter than him. She rocks and will get the perfect mr.right one of these days! 71. Perhaps there is a reason why a lot of the rest of us are not as wealthy as Oprah is? Perhaps the reason is that the attention to detail which we ascribe to the doings and goings on of other people way exceeds what we invest in ourselves and our lives and those of our families and friends? Perhaps there's a reason why all these sordid stories make the rounds in the media and drub up their own cult following? Perhaps the reason is because the media moguls and their disinformation agents know that the majority of us media consumers are essentially fickle, gullible, wastrels, knock-abouts, ne'er do well, blamers, haters of our own selves....who need to feed on all this filth in the name of being informed and happy citizens? Perhaps there are many reasons why we prefer to look outside: and with rosy lens...rather than look on the inside with scalpels in our hands ready to be incisive and to cut out the rotting parts of ourselves? Perhaps the real reason is that we hate to like who we are and therefore continue to support our shell-like fantasies of ourselves? Why don't we simply stop playing GOD?
