Obama -- Brad's the Hot One in the Family

The yentas of "The View" went all googly-eyed for Barack Obama on today's show, but it was Barbara Walters who really went there with Barack.

When asked about being Brad Pitt's ninth cousin, Obama said that Brad was the one who got the looks in the family -- Babwa disagreed, strongly. And then they had to go and talk about stuff like foreign policy and race relations and O-blah-blah-blah-ma ...

31. This guy is a con artist pure and simple. He is pulling the wool over Black eyes the same as white eyes. This Rev Wright's rants and hate sermons are nothing new at all. There are millions of guys like Rev Wright that have stood up and worked a crowd with "Blazing speech" about the "evils" of the "white man" or "The Man" or "The Gov" or "The System". The words get heated, the crowd gets worked up, people are jumping up and shouting, and everybody is pissed in rhythm...and harmony. This is nothing new and has been going on since day one.
What is important to know is that Barry Obama needed to fit in with a political savvy and powerful support group. That Church in Chicago gave him just that. That Church is a Mecca for powerful people and CONNECTED people. Obama is a political creature and he correctly sensed this was the place for him. And it did one more thing for him. It allowed him to connect with Black people in a way that had up until then eluded him. Barry came from a white life and an educated world and he had gaps to fill. In my opinion he used them. The same way he used his white grandmother when it worked to suit his needs. He is a user and he'll use us/america to put him where ever it is he wants to be. And that's why I don't like him and won't vote for him.

33. Barack's appearance on The View today just reaffirmed my belief that this man is the man who can bring changes in our Federal Government.
Ignorance and Hate are something this man has probably dealt with his whole life,
Barack Hussein Obama IS the dream that MLK spoke of before his voice was silenced by haters.
With 4000 of our best and brightest having paid the ultimate price in Iraq for the lies of the current Administration,
its time to bring our service people home.
Its time to do what is necessary to shore up our failing economy.
Its time to show the citizens of this country that EVERY one of them is equal in the eyes of its government.
And that they are entitled to Health Care when they are ill or hurt regardless of economic status.
That our children shouldn't have to be in a certain income bracket to receive quality care without going hungry.

Hillary has and is still in the pocket of corporate money.
If she had not been the First Lady, would she be even a factor in this election?
If she had divorced Bill when his infidelity was uncovered, would she be a candidate?

I admire a candidate who got there by his accomplishments in government, not who they married.
I hope that others feel the same way too..

34. #24....um i think 6 million jews being killed in only 4 years, is alot worse then a couple hundred years of slavery. Its not like they killed slaves for the fun of it, they were the labor force and thus were needed, the plantation owners would beat them etc, but for the whole time they were slaves, 6 million didnt die. I dont think even more then maybe 50,000 were actually murdered in that whole time. I also think its quite childish to blame everyone else for somthing that happened 150 years ago. The reason the jews still talk about the holocaust is because it was only 60 years ago, and 6 million died. But i think black people still like to blame white people for not being as successful. If black people were as successful as the japanese or as the jews are now, would they still be talking about slavery?

35. As a bi-racial person I know first hand that you can be part of one race, and harbor a dislike and even hatred for that race. I've seen this firsthand in my family, I don't believe Obama is as fond of his white side, as he is of his African side.

36. Well the incompetence of a President is not based on race. And how successful a black man can be where Obama is now, proves just that, and where we've been MISLED proves it as well. So every comment about race should be viewed as ignorance. HATE has no creed or color... it is what it is- be you Jew, Black or White... the bottom line is America has angered more than black people #36. Wrong is Wrong... doesn't matter if one black person was killed in the years of slavery. Labor, shmabor.... Once again... America had no business in another country kidnapping any group of people for their own personal gain... or sloth!

Susan.... dont get mad because AAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD I guess that's all you can pick up.

37. There is nothing wrong with a black man loving himself or his heritage... and it's funny how when he does, he's considered racists. Guess he's not showing his "white side" enough love because he leaned more to the black side and the same applies to the church he has every right to attend. Doesn't mean he agrees with the pastor, just means he is patriotic/american enough to accept another man's views, without passing judgement or boycotting.... please.... I am a Christian and while I dont agree with everything the man says in the pulpit, I believe the word of God. Let every man examine himself and show himself approved... didn't say examine, judge and condemn the man in the pulpit- not even if you're running for President.
Trying to rid the only social sanctuary blacks have always clung to heal them of the abuse and misuse is psychological slavery-- it's not gonna work. God is just and will JUDGE EVERY LIVING BEING... so get it right!

I think many are just too ONE-WAY and NARROW MINDED to see that... may He have mercy in the day of judgement!

Huh? Weird statement. A vote for Obama is a vote for McCain. Period.

39. Why didn't they ask him what his grandmother's reaction was when she found out his mother was dating his father?

40. Barbara should have interviewed Barack by herself. None of the others added a thing and, as could be predicted, Joy was her hideous unfunny self, Sherry was as rude and oafish as ever and Elisabeth just as snotty and snippy as ever. The term "cracker" has her name written all over it and the only thing she deserves is her title of "worst interviewer according to the AOL Poll."

Wonder why the results of the AOL poll were not discussed in "hot topics?" LOL!!!

42. # 36 Honestly if thats what you believe you did not go to school. While 6 million Jews may be horrible, there were also Catholics and Blacks killed during the holocaust. Maybe you are unaware of the people lynched 20, 10, 5 years ago not 60. Discrimination that continues and has resonance to this day. So to say that 6 million jews being killed 60 years ago is worse than 400 continuous years of slavery murder oppression rape, discrimination and all kinds of other atrocities sounds ignorant. it sounds even dumber if you honestly think only 50,000 blacks died or were tortured in those 400 years. Maybe you never saw the black people hosed down in the streets and beaten. Maybe you never heard of the KKK which still exists. Maybe you never heard of the poverty black people are still in. Maybe you don't realize the Capitol was build by slave labor. I could go on. So to say that there is no legacy of slavery is ridiculous. As a Republican I realize there is power in economy independence which many blacks don't have. The Japanese you you understood history were not systemically enslaved imprisoned or murdered they had their property that was in a prerequisite area of military installations seized, those who refused were imprisoned. For that they were compensated. During the Holocaust Jews were given asylum in the US given federal moneys to start lives here and then they were further compensated through reparation which they still are today from the German government. So to say they have reached a good place economically is not surprising given the hey they received. Blacks who were not given such help and even to this day are discriminated in employment among other areas don't quite have that same opportunity to do well. And the first thing you will say is affirmative action but it doesn't help to send a kid through school who was not taught to read in the first grade because he lives in an area with low property values and hence low tax revenue and no funding for books in school. Nor does welfare which 1. is given in majority to white citizens and 2. does not teach people to be self sufficient. Freed slaves were paid plantation dollars to work they could on the use on the plantation after slavery too but that doesn't help. Even when black society does come into economic equality with other societies (and yes that means there will still be poor blacks as there are poor whites Mexicans, spanish people, asians and everything else as well) as a country we still should be talking about slavery because it is a large part of what this country is. I would suggest before you embarrass yourself talking about such things in a less anonymous forum you take the time to educate yourself about what you are talking about.

43. This man gives me hope for a better tomorrow. He tickles me pink. He makes me smile and he makes me think . AND (just for you susan) he tackles issues straight on instead of skirting the issue - this is the kind of president I've always wanted and that I've never had.....yet.
