Dale, you're right about prescription drugs being a problem and kids taking their parents meds.
However how did Daniel get Anna's methodone? She was hospitalized after having a baby and methodone is illegal in the Bahamas, it wasn't one of her legitimate prescribed meds. She did however have a stock pile of it at her home. Her son had yet been at her home before his hospital visit.

I think the media is trying to let the world know. The commercial on the Superbowl of the dealer on the corner. The one of the child going thru his pill box. It's the public that doesn't want ot hear it. Denial and all that you know.

Not in my house, not my family. Not my community.

My daughter ended up in the ER last week. While there, watched a mother/daughter trying to get their script refilled. Her excuse. Bad back. Nurse came back and said her script had just been filled and it's not going to be refilled if she 'lost' 280 pills.

My daughter was prescribed hydrocodone but has had it before and it makes her nauseous so asked what else was available. He went into a rant that if he prescribed something else, I would have to have it under lock and key cause someone would break into my home and steal it. I won't even take a tylenol unless I'm in extreme pain.

It's widespread. It's an epedemic and society does not want to acknowlege it.

54. Howard IS responsible for Anna and Daniels deaths. He claims to have loved Anna. Did he even TRY to get her off drugs? When she got pregnant, all the more reason to try. That must have really pissed him off that she had another man's baby. So he continues to let her have drugs, AND he and that Doctor Chris were picking up the stuff at that post office box. You Howard lovers, where did the drugs come from in the Bahamas? As far as I am concerned, he killed them, whether it be of his own hand, or by letting her continue her distructive lifestyle. 55. With methadone being illegal in The Bahamas, where did this boy get the methadone, how could Anna-Nicole Smith receive a shipment in The Bahamas, and who picked it up on her behalf? What happened to the nannies and what happened to their sworn testimony in Florida and The Bahamas?

If this young man was into drugs, then the low-lifes with whom she surrounded herself during the last three years of her own life are not to be respected for neglecting to assist her son with either psychotherapy or early substance abuse counseling. It wasn't Hannah Rose who caught our attention, as mothers and grandmothers, in early September 2006, but the sudden death of a vibrant 20-year-old in his mother's maternity room within hours after his arrival. This young man had not begun to even have a real taste of nor a chance at LIFE. One can well imagine that he may have been abused (emotionally and psychologically) in a number of different ways with the type of people she surrounded herself the last decade of her life. Shame on her and shame on all of them for the life of debauchery they led in the presence of a young and innocent child!

There may be a pot of gold available through her daughter, but they will always remain "laughing stock" in the eyes of the American public.

57. Yea, if Howard claims to have loved Anna so much, why did he sit there and watch her slowly die? We all saw her on tv, she was so out of it for so long. It was really obvious the last few months of her life, she was swollen, looked terrible, and high all the time. He had to have been a moron not to see her going downhill so fast. He has no excuse for his stupidity other than knowing that if he kept giving her the drugs, he could control her. Watch her reality show sometime. She HATED Howard. He was her "gofer" I still think that he took her away to the Bahamas by convicing her that Larry would take her child. There he had total control, till Daniel got in the way. The rest is history.

60. Daniel was a young man who was addicted to drugs. His surroundings were those of a chemically dependent mother and that is what he knew. There are many people incarcerated for drug addictions. Many people die from drug addiction. I bet if you could you would blame HKS for any drug related problem in the world. He is not a bad person.
