WWE Fans Injured -- Call in the Undertaker!

Look out below! At least 40 wrestling fans were injured Sunday night when fireworks and cables landed on the crowd at WWE's huge Wrestlemania event in Orlando.

A pyrotechnics display went haywire, sending hot cables flying in to the crowd. One victim told a local TV station, "It felt like a whip. I have a welt on my neck. Like a baseball bat hit me. It was horrible. Horrible."

For their part, the WWE feels bad. In a statement to TMZ, they say "While we apologize to anyone who was injured and/or alarmed by this occurrence, we take solace in the fact that the reported injuries were minor. "

46. I am 29 and have been a pro wrestling fan since I was 5 years old the people who make fun of wrestling fans just simply do not get it and never will believe me i've tried explaining to them many times it's sports entertainment it's a show it's fun to watch you get into the characters it's really a male soap opera it has something for everybody men, women and kids and for the idiots that say wrestling is fake you need to understand what fake means because it is NOT fake it is pre-determined yes they know who is going to win the match yes they know every move they will be doing but they still have to do those moves and they do get hurt you have to be very athletic to do those moves or you would have a broken neck oh and as far as thinking a wrestling ring is a trampoline it's not http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrestling_ring......... I mean it's like being a fan of Bruce Willis for his Die Hard movies or Jackie Chan for all his cool movies do we make fun of people who are fans of these guys I mean are they really saving the world or are they making a movie to entertain us well that is wrestling it's entertainment it's like a live action movie so you either get it or you don't but stop being so one-sided to just say it's fake and I agree all you jackasses that get on TMZ and comment on a wrestling related story just to call us wrestling fans rednecks and morons it really says a lot about your lives that you feel the need to get on here and make fun of us.........I feel bad for those people that got hurt at Wrestlemania 24 but they are fans and I bet you they had a great time before that happend and Vince McMahon will take care of them and of course some will sue him that's no surprise either.........Well I am stopping my rant now LATER TMZ'ers

47. I don't understand why people like to bash the WWE. The WWE is just like any other movie or TV show. The only difference is that the WWE preforms in front of a live crowd, they do there own stunts, and there are no retakes. And for the people who say "wrestling is fake" who said it was real? The WWE doesn't advertise themselves as being real so, why do you say that it's fake? And if your definition of "fake" is "scripted" just to let you know every movie and TV show is scripted. You don't hear people going around and saying "{insert your favorite TV show/movie/ TV personality} is/are fake" And if you think they don't get hurt, just youtube "WWE Injuries"

48. People can bash wrestling if they want to. But remember those same people continually visit a website that reports hollywood gossip. Somehow watching a video of a celebrity being chased by the paprazzi and finding amusement in Britney Spears downward spiral makes you more intelligent than a wrestling fan.

51. Isn't it funny that so many people have witty little comments about wrestling and it's fans. Yet, they are the first ones to post something on something about wrestling. If you don't like it move on to your porn site and stay off from here commenting about something that others enjoy. Do we say anything when some of you people spend hundreds of dollars having "SURVIVOR" parties. Or taking days off from work because American Idol is having a 2 hour season fianle. People got hurt. It happens! Nobody got serious injuries like what occur at other events where fire has broken out or riots have started. So just let it go! Easy as that.

54. I'm not surprised this happened. At the Staples Center 3-12-08 a press conference was held for Wrestlemania and it appears that the staff (Staples Center)and WWE side busters are rude to the fans. Any unwanted comments or sounds made at live tapings can be editted out.But you know what these jackass's did.The Staple Center staff and this is not the first time acted as if the show was there for them and threw out the fans. And WWE. edits it to make it look like money was thrown to them by Floyde Mayweather.Dam we were ejected 25-30min onto the taping by their screwed up under trained staff recruited from of all places some of the worst environments of LA,CA.As far tese folks suing hey if WWE can't live up to the rep they portray on netwok TV/Mags.They really have no right to hurt people and their families by hiding the truth.6 events later 3 were really not good in as far as hospitality of WWE selected sidebusters and Staple Center staff made me want to stay my ass at home on this one and I am glad dammit! One of the events I was pulled to the side and ask by studio trainers in the wresling pros and I do already have a good background in set watch,Universal Studios,PET Team services because so much is hidden and I got some stories .I don't want to get involved this fosho sucks! Sure hope no one got hurt too bad, just like me these folks just wanted alittle clean fun!

55. The wrestlers put their bodies on the line everytime the pyros are used. This is why some of them are wet when they come out to stop them from being burned .We had to guess one in particular although I see most of them shower for hygiene as well as how good it looks. Some of these guys can handle having good looks while some some you are better off not knowing that the real them is a thumb up the ass.I'm glad I know not to play favorites.I thought Chris Benoit was cool and I had no ideal in real as in for real he had so many problems. He was the last person I thought wouldv'e committed such a act as double homicide and suicide in a day, double being wife and child. What was he on?Steriods don't make you kill off your family like that,

56. Wanda C., I have heard the security at WWE can be jerks sometimes and we know WWE loves to re-write history as they see fit. What they don't realize is that it makes them look stupid and look like liars.

Off the subject, I don't talk much about Chris Benoit anymore after what he did but I will agree with you on one thing. That "roid rage" thing that the media tried to hype was B.S.! I've heard of "roid rage" but steriods don't make someone kill their wife and son and themselves over three days! If that were so, then many baseball players and other athletes would be killing machines!

Back on this subject, I hope the people that got injured are okay!

57. I was at WM. Early in the the night, I was looking around just taking in everything. I saw above us about 20 ft or more in the air was alot of cables. I was wondering what they were for. Well, TAKER had won his match and the batteries in my camera were dead. So I told my son lets head out. About that time is when the fireworks started. I had took about 3 steps when a cable fell bearing hitting me on my left arm. Still it hurt! Looking at the cable it was made like what they call fish tape to pull electical wire. harden flat steel about 1/2 " wide. It fell to my left at an angle. About 10 rows to in front of me one of the fireworks was still going off as it fell into the seats. All i can say is THANK YOU GOD for dead battiers or I would have still been setting there taking pic's
