63. I love Chris Cornell. I think he's one of the best artists ever and the Audioslave song "I am the highway" is my all time favorite song BUT he needs to grow up. It was announced that it was his cover, no one denied it, Michael Jackson isn't upset about it so shush. David kicked butt with that song. It was a great performance and I was amazed listening to him sing it because it was great. In the past 8 or whatever years orFAmerican Idol has any other artist made a big deal about these people singing their songs? Noooooo. Chris, I love you but get over youself.

67. Well, kudos to Cook for knowing a great song. I am so glad to know who the music came from, so I can check out another musician I haven't been exposed to before. I picked up Chris Cornell's solo album, and I LOVE IT!!! Wow, that man has an amazing voice. Though he covers Billie Jean on the album, his original stuff is awesome as well.

Thanks, Idol, for expanding my musical world.

68. Both Cornell AND the band who got all bent out of shape over Cook's Eleanor Rigby seem to have conveniently forgotten that THEY did not write those songs! For them to call out David Cook is the same as it would be for Jackson or Beatles to target THEM for covering the song too.

70. DW...if you didn't read my previous post....the reason those other Artists are bent out of shape is because everyone is giving credit to David cook for his performance. But he would not have been able to give the performance if those other artists didn't spend hours working on a different arrangement of the song. ...and I don't know if you have ever spent hours or days working on something...and then most people give all credit to someone else...basically talking about them like a god...when you were the one that did all the hard work....How would you feel? would you not want everyone to know it was you that spent all that time working on the song?

71. Well Cornell should realize that Billie Jean is NOT HIS either. It was Michael Jackson's too. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Cornell should be lucky that American Idol even mentioned his name. David Cook did an outstanding performance and was absolutely awesome. Cornell should keep his mouth shut.
