Did Jailers Contribute to Sean Levert's Death?

Sean LevertTMZ has learned that singer Sean Levert was physically restrained by jail guards right before he died.

Staff at the Cuyahoga County Jail tell us Levert was "out of control" and "hallucinating," forcing them to place him in a restraining chair, because he was a danger to himself. The jail's warden Kevin McDonough says Levert was cooperative and "went willingly" when jail staff bound his wrists and shackled his feet.

The Cuyahoga County Coroner tells us Levert's body showed no signs of physical trauma, nor do they suspect foul play. They are currently awaiting toxicology results -- those will take four to six weeks to come back.

Sean reportedly suffered from high blood pressure. In a statement issued yesterday, the Levert family says "There is no song that can capture the loss that we have in our hearts." The family is reportedly asking the FBI to investigate what happened.

32. He was high on drugs, had health problems and was restrained. Yes, it all probably contributed to his death. But why try to make something out of it that probably wasn't there? TMZ, the king of gutter jounalism!

33. I have to agree with Old School Fan. This is completely sad on so many levels. Who really knows if the real truth comes out or not, but if Sean would have kept up his child support payments (or at least made arrangements to pay it up), he wouldn't have been placed in jail. Just because he was a celebrity doesn't mean he should be able to skip out on his child support. The laws are the same for everyone in that respect. I do feel much sympathy for his parents who, again, have to go through the agony and pain of burying a second son in such a short amount of time. Questions will always be there...what was he hallucinating from? High blood pressure, as we all know, is a silent killer. If he was hallucinating, having high blood pressure would have only made things worse. Once again a talented person has died. However, in this day and age, with all that's out there about drugs, health care and abuse, EVERY adult should know the dangers that would affect your life if you choose to go down the path of abusing yourself in that manner. I just don't understand why more young adults just don't get it. That's what makes this such an avoidable tragedy. And, Bob, not only was your comment unacceptable, but in the future if you want to "appear" smart, learn how to spell!

34. Oh please. I have zero sympathy for someone who does drugs then resists arrest. Doing drugs with high blood pressure is even more stupid, if that's possible.

35. I'LL BET THIS GUY GOT SOME BAD SMACK IN JAIL AND PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE FOR IT. I'M SORRY HIS FAMILY IS SUFFERING BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CHILD HE IGNORED FINANCIALLY SO HE COULD SUPPORT HIS DRUG HABIT. YEP. HE HAD HIS PRIORITIES STRAIGHT. *WINK*

36. Maybe he should have just paid his child support. Then he would not been arrested.

37. I would just like to say to yeahright that the comment you made was very ignorant and uneducated. Everytime something happens to a black person they do not say it was because of their race. Some do, but not all of us. You really shouldn't stereotype people like that, I mean if that was the case I might say you were a little racist yourself, oh but in the whiteman's case when something goes bad with him he'll just blame it on everyone else! You guys play the victim so well, so do your women. Next time think before you start grouping entire races together, oh but you probably know it all too.

38. I agree, why would I have sympathy or care about someone who did drugs to excess? They don't care if they live or die, so why should I?
