"American Idol" Contestant Hospitalized, Released

David Cook"A.I" contestant David Cook was rushed to the hospital tonight after experiencing heart palpitations and high blood pressure, and released a few hours later. His condition is still not resolved.

As we first reported, Cook was not feeling well during the day and his condition worsened after his performance. Cook was examined by show medics who determined his blood pressure was "far too high." Cook was urged to leave for the hospital during the show, but he wanted to wait it out.

After the show, Cook was driven to the hospital (not by ambulance) and treated by a private doctor to keep everything on the down low. The doctor gave Cook medication to bring his blood pressure down and he will monitored again Wednesday.

What happend to your face?An "A.I." exec tells us Cook has been completely stressed out because his brother, who has been sick with cancer, had a setback within the last week. Earlier in the season, just before a performance, David collapsed and said he could not go on -- though he pulled it together at the last minute.

67. My heart goes out to you David. I lost two brothers to that dreadful disease and I know how you are feeling. Just know that there are those who watch American Idol who are pulling for you in more ways than one. You have a wonderful talent that should be shared with the world, And I know that your brother would want you to continue and win...if not for you...for him.
God Bless You and your family and may He keep you all in His Loving Arms.

68. I was sad to read this. David is one of the best cotnestants this year. He brings a unique approach to his songs as witness the last two weeks. While not having as pure a voice as David Archueletta, he has uindeniable talent and I hope he amkes it to the final two. Lets hope we say bye to the gal who sang the Whitney Houston song last night. Cant spell that name of hers.

David Cook did his own arrangement last night? You don't understand. Changing the arrangement of a song in a minor way that fails to completely separate an original artist from his/her original song is not a demonstration of creativity and originality. David Cook did not do that with "Little Sparrow" last night, he did not completely separate Dolly Parton from that song. But now here is a soulful lady who covered that song with an arrangement that does completely separate Dolly Parton from her "Little Sparrow" song, here is a demonstration of creativity and originality, here is Bettye LaVette's cover version of Dolly Parton's "Little Sparrow" in a creative arrangement that makes it LaVette's own:

75. To Jodie76: If you are still reading the comments, my sister in law battled stage 4 uterine cancer and just had her 5 year check up in Dec. and was declared cancer free. Yes, she has some damage from chemo and radiation, but she is still pretty perky. Good luck to you.
