Celebrity Justice
UCLA Snooping on Farrah Too?

Farrah Fawcett got snooped on by a UCLA Medical Center employee last year, just like Britney Spears did after her stay there -- and Farrah's lawyers think the National Enquirer and other tabs may have gotten the dirt on her cancer as a result.

According to the L.A. Times, the Enquirer ran a story about Fawcett's cancer returning last year, which appeared before Fawcett had even told her son and closest friends. The hospital fired the employee who had checked out Fawcett's records, says a Times source.

Farrah's lawyer didn't say whether she would sue UCLA, but called the situation "ugly." UCLA says it's checked out any improper reviewing of Fawcett's file, but didn't find any breach.

16. UCLA get your act together - YOU ARE RIGHT ON THE MONEY!!! Your question as to how many crimes have been committed - ENDLESS... In my line of work I personally know of situations were patients.... wealthy/celebrity patients have been BLACKMAILED by someone with access to or copies of something in their medical record that was damning... the good news is that they were fined/jailed/caught (except one where the person lived outside of the US and not punishable under US laws) - but that doesn't erase the fact that it was POSSIBLE... Sad, but still very true... MOST hospitals can catch the snitch by tracking the access record and undergoing a complete investigation... many slip through the cracks...

19. #4 is totally right.

And, UCLA is full of crap.

Whether one is a celebrity or not, everyone must demand impeccable medical privacy, personal security, and the safekeeping of sensitive info.

20. It is truly awful enough that she has cancer. Can't the GD staff and media leave her alone? I hope they find the douchbags responsible and fire them...THEN I hope charges of some kind (and there are a few) are brought against them. Then these people can be unemployed AND in jail. A-holes.

21. Wow, this is hurtful news...Farah with rectal cancer, I am disturbed as Farah and I are the same generation and that means trying to figure out what poison through modern chemicals in our food will kill us. It's all about what the chemical companies through oonspiracies have peddled their product through crooked politicians. Check out aspertame on the web...legal poison. Revolution today, revolution tomorrow, revolution in DC until the liars are out!

22. Loved her in the "Burning Bed." My brother had her poster in his room growing up and spent a lot of time in there with his door closed.

25. I agree with morgan. Where does HIPAA play into this? The government should get involved and fine them. Then they would be a little more careful about who had access to information.

27. It is an immoral act to purchase a National Enquirer. If there were no market for it, the barbaric acts would halt.

Not only would I not purchase a Natl. Enq. but I would make a point of not patronising the advertisers. My grocery store doesn't sell that POS publication. You should ask your store not to sell it either. Money is the only language they understand. Hit 'em where it hurts!

28. Farrah is a-still beautiful and gracious woman. I have always followed her career and esp. loved her in "The Burning Bed" and "Extremeties." So sad her only son Redmond has given her so much grief with his drug addictions..I always thought she had such a rough time inl ife and I pray she gets thru this ok.

Cancer is not funny you imbeciles that are making jokes in here. You might be the one sitting in her shoes one day.

Keep the faith Farrah! Your fans are pulling for you :)
