47. In this day and age, only idiots smoke. Period. ANYONE can quit smoking if their desire is great enough. As a reformed smoker (last cigarette = January 9, 1992), I know. We can't trust the personal strength or character of someone who cares so little not only about himself, but about his children. He is robbing them of a long future with them. Very selfish.

I joined the army to take care of my family, so thats something i have to live with. The benefits are great and the checks are always on time. I just don't like the reasons we're out there in Iraq.

DEEEEEEEP Down, it's not Repub vs. Demo's or if he smokes or not... Obama's race has a lot to do with such negative feelings toward him. You know that Obama haters are really getting desperate when they jump all over a RUMOR of a presidential candidate possibly having some incidence of relapse on the way to overcoming what is probably THE most chemically-addictive product on the consumer market. 53. Flash why is it our responsibility and ours alone to fix this Iraq mess? We have limited military support from other countries and we are footing all the money. We are borrowing money from other contries to fund this "Iraqi Freedom." Should the UN be involved on this? How many years does Iraq expect us to be an IRAQI BODYGUARD FOR FREE??? If OPEC threatened an oil embargo we would be out alot faster then we arrived.

55. So what is Sen. Obama is a smoker. It's an exquisitely difficult thing to quit. He is under a bit of pressure don't you think? Take some historical perspective here. This is a very talented man; I am conforted that he's not perfect. Although I am still a Clinton supporter judging from some of the comments preceding mine I am stunned that there are those out there who actually say they now won't vote for the gentleman because he smokes. Such self rightousness. Surely there are more serious issues to worry about - gee, it's called policy issues for the country and our children.

You have the audacity to accept the checks and cash them but yet you want to bitch about having to do it because you don't like the reasons we are over there! 59. I don't understand why some think it's inappropriate for Obama to be on this site. If there was EVER a politician who belongs on a "fan site", this is the guy.

He's not a politician. He's a just another celeb pushed on us by the cable TV "talking head" shows, Oprah and some pretty speach writers. Let's be honest here. If he looked like Al Sharpton, Hillary would be planning on how to change the curtains in the White House right now.
