R.I.P.
Moses To Heston: Hey Lil' Buddy!

Legendary actor Charlton Heston, who uttered the best line in a movie ever -- "Take your stinking paws off of me you damn dirty ape!!" -- died at his Beverly Hills home last night at the age of 84.

The actor, who as head of the NRA once said you would have to pry a rifle from his "cold, dead hands," died with his wife Lydia at his side. He had been battling Alzheimer's.

211. I hear Chuck used that exact same line from the flick when Obama tried to shake his hand.

212. 209. Acrtually I noticed the numbers have changed so here is the post from Sabrina I was referring to in my previous post:

" You seem to think that Alzheimer's would never cause people to say or do things beyond what is normal or acceptable. Alzheimer's can cause huge changes in a person's thinking many YEARS before anyone suspects there is something wrong. In my grangmother's case, 15 or 20 years before she was diagnosed, she did an about face on many issues and said many things that were totally out of character for her. This woman who never said a foul word in her life suddenly took to using the most vulgar language. She made remarks that made all of us cringe. We look back now and recognize the beginning of the end for her, but you don't see it at the time. I don't know if that's what happened with Mr. Heston, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility that you were watching Alzheimer's at work when he underwent all of the changes in the last years of his life. In any case, whether the changes were disease related or honest changes, he was entitled to his beliefs......just as you are.....just as we all are. At least he was out there trying to do something about what he believed in. That can't be said for the majority of people who sit at home and do NOTHING except complain about those who are involved. They don't write letters, march, actively support their causes in ways that might actually do some good one way or the other. Not saying that's you, but I would bet the majority of people who are criticizing Mr. Heston NEVER took the time to become actively involved themselves on the issues that they care about. It's like voting for president - if you don't vote, don't complain about the person who is elected. The same for Mr. Heston - if you don't work for your cause, don't complain about what others are doing.

I've dealt with many Alzheimer's patients over the years, and I can tell you that not one had a family who didn't shelter them from the public. No matter what you think about him or his politics - and think what you like, his family is to be commended for caring for him throughout this horrible time. Caring for an Alzheimer's patient is one of the most difficult things a person can do, even if you have boatloads of help. Shame on you for bringing them into this mess. You show great disrespect for Alzheimer's patients and their families who live with this disease every single day for YEARS when you talk like they are doing something wrong for shielding their loved ones. Sabrina"

This is why the mocking of Alzheimer's disease for political gain by George Clooney when he said " Charlton Heston announced again today that he had Alzhekmer's" and then declared that Charlton Heston deserved what ever was said about him for his NRA support is so completely unforgivable and never to be for gotten especially by those who have family and/or friends suffering with Alzheimer's, an incurable and debilitating diseease that 5 million Americans suffer as from of date. Eight out of ten baby boomers will in the next ten years will have some sort of dementia. Many Americans are already taking care of a parent or grandparent or a life partner with dementia.
Most importantly those who may be suffering from Alzheirmer's do not seek treatment or care when Alzheimer's suffering is made an acceptable public joke. How hard it is to find out that you are going to be dieing and losing your mind soon unable to wipe your own *** and admittiong this is very hard.
Charlton Heston Hollywood's leading man icon great American personal's announcement that he had Alzheimers was couragious and not to be mocked by some wanna be...please. Done with anything george clooney what so ever.
Russia and France told George Clooney to shut at the UN and refused to let him speak according to news.com. I am not alone.

214. Now we can pry the gun from his cold dead hands. Heston is one of the most overrated actors ever! He should have retired from acting right after the original Planet of the Apes 1968 because eveything he did afterwards was crap, He soooooo over acted and how does a civil rights activist turn into a right-wing gun toting looney tune? Thank God one more big mouth from 1950 we don't have to listen too anymore.

I'm finding it very interesting that these guys like Ronald Reagan and Heston are all pious and cast stones at others but yet in the end they are the ones afflicted with one of the most horrible dieseses. Perhaps reaping what they sow, as the bible says.

Rest in Peace Chuck

215. THANK GOD, ANOTHER HOMOPHOBIC SELF-RIGHTEOUS, GUN-LOVING REPUBLICAN IS BURNING IN HELL NOW.

THEY'RE ALMOST ALL GONE. FALLWELL CROAKED, NOW HESTON, AND HOPEFULLY SOON PAT ROBERTSON.

216. You will be missed Mr. Heston. You lived a long, full life and were one of the last "hollywood greats". May you rest in peace in the presence of your Savior.

218. You stupid liberals make me sick ! Charlton Heston was a great actor and stood up for his beliefs in many facets. He was married to the same woman for 64 years. The pantywaist actors in Hollywood today are dumb as rocks, have no morals, have drug and alcohol problems. Heston was very admirable. I can't think of any other actor who has his class. Besides, to trash a man after he is dead is idiotic, you Morons. I hope George Clooney didn't say those things about Heston. If he did, then I have no use for Clooney. At least Heston graduated from college. Did Clooney graduate from High School? Many of the "big time stars" didn't and yet they think they are such authorities on everything. Many are such dimwits.

219. I love that No. 13 says it's like losing daddy, then says RIP Charlston, not Charlton. On another note, please get that gun out of his hand now. You say you need to protect yourselves with the guns laws, blah blah blah. I live in Australia, where we are not allowed to have guns all over the place, it is rare for people to own a gun and we don't go around getting shot by the criminals. Violence breeds violence people! If you took away the guns, there would be less gun deaths, I guarantee it! You Americans have got to give it up or it will only get worse. I

220. "Tim" (#145): My point is that a psycho visiting a 'gun-free zone' is presented with an ocean of defenseless people. It becomes a horrific killing field until some cop with a gun shows up 15 minutes later. Your statement about kids shooting each other at home is a completely different matter...you're talking about parents or other adults being criminally negligent. The criminals will always get their gun, banned or not...but just one more person packing a piece at Virginia Tech could have saved many lives. What sense does it make for the general public to be defenseless and at the mercy of the lunatic of the day?

223. May "THE LATE & GREAT CHARLETON HESTON" rest in peace. He was a fantastic actor. He will be greatly missed. My sympathies go out to his wondeful wife of "64yrs" Lydia. That is a long marriage especially in hollywood. My thoughts and prayers are with them as we all mourn with you at the loss of such a talented man. May god bless you Mrs. Heston.

225. George Clookey said this when told about Mr. Heston's passing: "He's dead?! Great! Its about time! Now I can go piss on his grave!"
