Jasmine's Different World -- The Single Life!

Jasmine Guy filed for divorce last week from her husband of nearly 10 years, Terrence Mitchell Duckett -- and she has a laundry list of stuff she plans to keep. You go, Whitley!

In court papers filed April 3, Guy has two pages of items she lists as being her "separate property." They include her wedding ring, five paintings, two sculptures, three checking accounts, full ownership in one production company and half of another, her tax refunds, her BlackBerry (ok, now this is just getting petty), four DVD players, pots, pans, and a toaster. Come on, let the man keep the toaster!

A rep for the actress tells TMZ "It is true that Jasmine Guy has filed for divorce from her husband of nearly 10 years, Terrence Duckett. Jasmine would like to say that there is no villain in this scenario and that she is ending her marriage due to irreconcilable differences. Jasmine would also like to thank everyone who wishes her and her family well, and asks that the press and the public allow her and her husband their privacy to work through what is a very difficult time. Thank you very much."

The couple also has a daughter, Imani, who is 9. There is no indication yet about how they will handle custody.

17. For everyone calling her a ho and saying she in it for money, do you even know who her soon to be ex is (withOUT checking Google-which will most likely only show him being most known for marrying her)? She has been making money long before she married him, so she's not a golddigging ho (why does every woman have to be a ho?) And even if they can't be married, maybe he is a good father so she feels no need to bring up visitation and/or custody at this point. It's sad that their family is breaking up and I am sure she never thought that her personal situation would be splashed all over for the world to see. She has more pressing matters to attend to than worrying about TMZ.

Her separate property? Shouldn't everything be tallied up? or is this something else women get away with in court.
I bet she'd be demanding everything of his be included if he tried the same stunt.

Just proves women are only after money.

20. Anon - It sounds as though SHE is the one with the money and entered the marriage with the money! Jasmine is merely taking what she needs to start another household with their daughter.

It isn't always the woman's fault! There are 3 sides to every story - yours, mine and the TRUTH. The later of which we will never know!

You might want to get some therapy for your dislike of women!

30. OK As fir the toaster....I own a commercial toaster which cost over 500.00. I know this sounds like a lot of money, but I have owned this toaster for for almost 20 years. How much does a regular toaster cost and how long will it last? You guys do the math. Obviously maybe her toaster will last much onger than her marriage did. PS I'm still married and we're still toasting all kinds of things :))
