"90210" Actor Found Dead

UPDATE: According to Kamel's rep, the actor had a heart attack.

Actor Stanley Kamel was found dead in his Hollywood home.

Kamel, who had been starring on "Monk," also played mafioso Tony Marchette, the father of Rebecca Gayheart's character Antonia, on "90210." He ordered a hit to be put out on Dylan, but ended up killing his daughter instead.

L.A. Fire officials tell TMZ they responded to a 911 call from Kamel's Hollywood Hills home yesterday just before 4:00 PM. They tell us their investigation is still "incomplete."

A cause of death at this time is unknown, but the L.A. County Coroner tells us they don't have the case. According to AccessHollywood.com, the actor was found by his longtime agents.

16. I agree with you Star about TMZ using such a sensational lead-in...I have no idea how they will spin this on MONK...he was such a great character on the show...my best thoughts to his family and friends.

17. He was a very charismatic presence on screen. Those eyes and that voice made him stand out from the crowd. Sometimes I miss the character actors more than the primaries. He's one of those guys that you know you've seen in a hundred things but you can only name 1 or 2 at any given moment. Probably why TMZ mentioned 90210. It was a big role for him at the time. For once I don't think TMZ meant any disrespect. You just tend to pick the biggies to jar peoples memories.

19. Presently, AccessHollywood is saying that it was a heart attack (click on link in story). Truly sad, he is great on Monk and I do remember him as the tough Tony Marchette on 90210 - stellar performer. May you rest in peace and may your family be blessed with only strong, good memories of your life on earth. You will be missed...

21. I hate it when people take the time and then write "Who". My dear, Ima Fibbin, and anyone who follows suit, you have just displayed your ignorance. Nice work.

22. Someone DIED. Have some decency and respect . (#1 , YOU ARE A JACKASS.) AND, If you dont know who the person is, be respecful or you are an IDIOT ALSO... He brought joy to people as an Actor...and wll be sorely missed...and TMZ , you are low class to bring "90210" into this...

23. I am deeply saddened by this news. I love him on Monk, I think he and Tony Shalhoub have amazing chemistry. I agree with the poster who said that he should not only known for his 90210 days, I never watched that show and if the photo was not attached I would probably skipped the article.

The poster who posted first...get some help. An announcement of a person's death is not the place or time for that type of immaturity.

B.D
Someone dies and all you want to comment on is that you're first? You are an IDIOT! Clearly, B.D. stands for Big Douchebag. TMZ really needs to filter out the firsts....it is beyond annoying and juevenile. GROW UP FIRST PEOPLE!

25. Yes, being in 8 episodes of "90210" is his most known role, not his 6 seasons on "Monk".

26. That is sad to hear. I really liked him on Monk.

28. How awful the first comment. What a total lack of class. And also the title--it was sure curiosity that made me even look who it was--I never watched 90210--then I saw it was the beloved psychiatrist on Monk. Bless his family during this sad time.

29. I've never seen Monk, but I did enjoy Mr. Kamel's part on 90210, of which I was a huge fan. So yes, TMZ did get my attention. Sorry to have lost an enjoyable actor.
