24. Unfortunately, this is the standard sentence for DUIs in CA, even repeat offenders get off with a slap, until they kill someone. There was no attempted manslaughter, just assault with a deadly weapon. And even if the police loaded up the charges, the DA usually wont prosecute unless they are sure they can win. This is chump change as far as the CA court system goes. The kid is better off being cut off from his $$$ by his parents and having to go work by digging ditches or running a register at McDonalds.
I hope he actually turns out to be a productive adult, but the track record so far doesnt look too hot.
