OMFG?! Is This Desperate or What?

Going lowbrow to raise eyebrows is "Gossip Girl's" newest lame attempt for ratings.
Gossip Girl
Should a show targeted at middle/high schoolers really be using "Oh My F**king God" for a tagline in their print and TV ads? Parents Television Council on line 2! LOL!

31. Here's a tag line --- TMZ, hypocrisy at it's finest.

32. God does not belong in anything like this. What a cheap shot to make something sensational. Plus the promo for the show (and probably the show) is skeevy. Come on. Can't our kids be kids for a little while? Why trash at such an early age. There are so many other things they could have done. Easy way out, writers! Earn your paychecks.

33. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't TMZ and The CW Network share corporate ownership? Is TMZ's outrage just part of the marketing?

As for the outraged parents, is OMFG in the Oxford dictionary? Any dictionary for that matter? The only way your kids would know what it stood for is if they used in their text messaging...

34. the youtube promos are actually incredibly racy by any standards and most certainly intentionally so. I'm a 20 year old guy, not exactly a fundamentalist christian, and I find the promos racy (but awesome and I'm kinda glad they are being so open )although I don't think GG's 12 year old girl audience needs to hear girls talk about how awesome casual sex is. Nonetheless come april 21st I will definitely have my tv set on the CW.

35. The last time I checked, TMZ, CW's "Gossip Girl" is the #1 show on the network. So that cheap shot about them trying to get ratings at any cost is pretty laughable. Especially coming from you guys. Aren't you the outfit that purposefully followed Ms. Janice around just so you could get footage of her butt, just so you could make fun of it on your website and TV show for ratings purposes? If that isn't something designed to get ratings, then I don't know what is!!! (ROFLMAO!!!)

BTW: I just LOVE that poster!! WOW!!! Blake Lively, you sexy, gorgeous thing!!!

36. ah, Harvey ... you all call women MILFs ... what could be more crude? Look in the mirror.

37.
It amazes me how young caucasian children live adult lives and I seem to be the only one disturbed by this. It seems to be a normal thing in the caucasian race and because the children are given birth control so that there are no unwanted pregnancies, accepted.

A show about underage kids screwing indiscriminately does not raise eyebrows just the use of the F word. Go Figure.

38. Does TMZ realize how many teens look at this site? TMZ shows provocative pictures of naked celebrities with well-placed stars that leave basically nothing to the imagination. TMZ has been known to say 'WTF.TMZ uses the F-word with a well-placed asterisk in place of one letter. And now TMZ points the finger at "Gossip Girl"? Are you kidding me? It is astounding how hypocritical TMZ is on a daily basis. OMG(osh)!

39. First of all you'd have to be a complete moron to think that highschoolers and middle schoolers are not already exposed to this kind of language, most likely at school and from their friends, second of all, it's four letters...so unless they have already been exposed to this and know the big scary f word(give me a break) then they don't know what this means anyways. and by the way number 3 you would need to lock the kid up for the rest of her life to keep her from hearing bad language. the big misconception in this world is that by keeping kids and teens away from the tv and video games and music for god's sake is going to somehow change whats in the real world and what they are going to hear and witness daily.

40.
Examples: Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, Britney and Jamie Spears, the Olsen twins, and my neighbors children. Dr. Phil is right, "who's in charge?"

It is one thing to allow the child decision making rights into their own lives, but my goodness. What is worse is that the parents do what the children tell them to do. The child is in charge and make all of the decisions. I am embarrassed for the parents when I witness this happening at the malls, in restaurants, on television; then I laugh at them.

TMZ stop throwing stones; I see you threw all of that glass.

41. Who do you think invented acronyms like this? Some "desperate" ad agency or some teen/tween kid that says, texts, or types this so many times a day that it became vital to abbreviate it. If my (non-existent?) kid walked around saying things like "OMFG" because she saw it in a picture I'd just be glad that she wasn't flashing her vag every time she got out of a car because of what she saw on TMZ.

42. It looks like an ad for a porno. I am not opposed to nudity or profanity at all, but not for this demographic. I think this is a bit racy for middle schoolers-- maybe even high schoolers.

43. ah, who cares, we've all seen worse. i love GG - ok, i said it. lol, sorry, but it's a guilty pleasure. ;-)

45. I am so tired of all the trash on TV and movies. Everyone who is involved with these trashy shows says it is the parents responsibility to monitor what their children are watching. Let's face it, a lot of parents are not doing the job of monitoring their kids. These kids are being exposed to things they should not be, they are bombarded with SEX all the time on everything, and then they are all told to "be careful they could get Aids or other diseases or pregnant. What a mixed message... Why can't we have more shows on TV that are family oriented and promote good choices for a change?

About ten to fifteen years ago you could hardly find a G or PG rated movie to take your child to. Now the "movie business" has figured out that there is BIG MONEY in "kid" movies. Parents don't want to pay a sitter while they go to the movie, they want to take their precious little one to a movie that they can all see! While they are there they buy popcorn, candy and an icee.

Also, this is why families are loving shows like American Idol, Deal or no Deal, Survivor, and all the other family friendly reality shows!!!!
