Vanilla Ice Busted After Meltdown With Wife

VanIlla Ice's Booking photoFormer rap star Vanilla Ice, real name Robert Van Winkle, was arrested tonight at his home after an alleged altercation with his wife.

Ice was booked by Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies at 10:43 PM ET on a charge of domestic battery. Sources tell TMZ he got into an argument with his wife, Laura, and he pushed her.

Vanilla Ice is still in custody at
Palm Beach County Jail. Palm Beach County Sheriff's tell TMZ that in most cases, people arrested for domestic violence are usually held over to see a judge. Looks like Mr. Van Winkle will spend a night in the pokey.

77. the sad thing in all domestic violence cases is that if there isn't a credible witness, you never know what is going on between people and people will just assume Rob beats his wife. Men do abuse women, but at the same time, women abuse men and some how it becomes fodder and rediculous to hear that a man "let" a woman assault them. It's no laughing matter when a woman won't get out of a man's face, yelling, screaming, possibly threatening a man with a knife out of the kitchen- let's not pretend that some women out there aren't all there and can be absolutely horrid when they're upset.

In the military, men are taught to put their hands in their pockets and essentially take what ever the woman does to them and the moment he tries to protect himself by pushing the woman away (god forbid he grab her by the wrists and move her out of his personal space), it is considered battery by the man regardless of the fact that the woman was doing the threatening and assaulting. Im not saying that is what happend in this case because I wasn't there- and no one else posting on this story was either. We have all witnessed Rob's professions of love for his family, saw how angry he got when women hit on him and he can throw fits, but that doesn't mean he abuses his wife, nor does "pushing" his wife mean that the wife hadn't continually kept getting in his face over something. It isnt for us to specualte, accuse or assume that he is a batterer because he was arrested.

We should hope that she is ok, that the kids are ok, and that he isn't abusive until we actually find out what happend. Not that anyone will believe it, because we're pretty much just all a bunch of hypocritical, overly-judgemental outsiders. If she retracts the complaint, people will bash her for it- even if she was at fault. Now that he has been accused, Im sure every story involving him posted by TMZ will reference this arrest because we all know how much TMZ LOVES to bring up past situations that stars are usually trying to move past and things that are completely unrelated.

Be safe everyone and have a great weekend.

81. "Pushed" is THE catch-phrase. I was "pushed" supposedly, however, doctor's and police reports and photographs showed STRANGULATION - which it was - I was attacked. The investigation was initiated by the doctor whom I saw after the attack who was MANDATED by law to report the "incident" to the police. Hopefully, she only WAS "pushed" and this is not what I endured. God bless.

84. Wow peoples, the report says he pushed her, not that he hit her, or beat her, they were screameing at each other and he puschsd her. no bruises, and she didn't want them to take him, but the law mandates that a call was made from a neighbor who heard the argument because they were being too fricking nosy, and since it was a third party call involving physical contact he has to go before a judge.

so deal with it people, he's a good AVERAGE family guy in an argument with his wife, and he will recieve no charges because she wont press them... big deal, get over it, life goes on.
