32. To: rayanbow... I agree with you. So far it seems to me that TMZ has put a negative spin on just about everything they have on Gerry. I may be wrong, I don't watch everything, but any time I have, it seems there's just a spin I don't think is fair. So he didn't realize how popular the Villa was, give the guy a break.... he clearly isn't trying to make an impression on anyone, by brushing up on the Hollywood scene before he just jumps in and checks it out. Gerry has got to be the most personable celebrity you (TMZ) cover. He has a great disposition and is pretty much an easy going guy. In fact I recall him saying he likes TMZ. Spinning what he said into, "...just another bitch to me." was a cheap shot. Gerry's not just another guy who drove to Hollywood and Vine to catch a break. You're dealing with a whole different breed of character for Hollywood. In my opinion, Gerry will always be able to handle anything the talking paparrazi have to offer and then some!

What he said was perfect! Bravo Gerry! Never change who you are, not for anyone, and when you get overwhelmed and tired of the Hollywood crap.... take a trip home and walk barefoot in the grass... Everything else is temporary, home is forever!!!

33. Chris, what you are calling crass is the natural frustrated reaction to being asked the same stupid questions over and over. How many ways can you say, "no" before the paps get it. Perhaps "What part of 'no' didn't you understand? The 'n' or the 'o'?" is less crass but more insulting. I think Gerard took the high road this time.

One does not have to resort to being immature and vulgar simply because one is frustrated ..... using four letter words may be perhaps YOUR "natural frustrated reaction" to such a situation, but not everyone behaves this way .... thankfully ...

but really, here is my concern .... he is currently featured in a children's film .... a different sort of film for him .... i guess ... different than "300" anyway.... so now there is a different audience and demographic that is being exposed to him .... even kids perhaps.... in that regard i just think he should tone down his language ....

and lastly while i realize you must be a great fan of his ....you can't be serious when you say "Gerard took the high road" .... vulgarity is never the "high road".....

35. Chris, I don't know where you're living but you might want to come back to planet Earth. Clearly you don't visit gossip sites like this very often if you think that the celebrities aren't asked these questions and others even more crass on a very frequent basis. Did you even listen to the video? If you had, you might have noticed that Cameron Diaz was never mentioned. She only appears in the TMZ headline. I don't know if he is in a relationship. Frankly, I don't think it's any of my business and that's not why I visit this site. But if he is, he is rightly irritated that these people keep invading his privacy.
Perhaps you don't get frustrated by idiots. Perhaps you don't even recognize them. After all you have to have more intelligence than they do. Perhaps you don't ever use four-letter words. Well, I suppose I should be happy for you that you are so pure and angelic but frankly I think you are merely a fool and completely out of touch with reality.
Yes, I am a fan of Gerard Butler. He's a very good actor who stays away from the public eye as much as possible. On the occasions when he does go out he is ambushed by the paps.
You are upset that a man who is acting in a children's film uses bad language. If that is the worst of your worries, you are very lucky. If you're worried that your children might learn that he uses bad language, block the site on your computer. There are many programs that will do this for you. If you need their names, let me know and I'll supply them. If other parents don't want their children to learn about reality they should do the same. They also should insist on home-schooling and never let them out into the real world. The fact of the matter is that that language is all around. You can't protect your children. Perhaps if they learn that there are a few occasions such as extreme provocation where it is a useful method of venting one's irritation they will be better off.
Or do you think he should have used physical force to push his way through them, possibly knocking someone down and doing physical damage instead of hurting their ears with his foul language. Remember, he isn't the one who put this up on the net. If it hadn't been for the paps, your children would never have known. So lay the blame where it belongs. On the paps who hound celebrities and TMZ who posted the video with its foul language where unsupervised children might hear it. Do not place it on the shoulders of a long-suffering actor who only wants to do walk his dog undisturbed. I think we owe him that much.

36. i was warned that certain fans of Gerard Butler could be rabid in their devotion to him ... and Baseball Junkie .... you certainly exhibit symptoms of this ..... in response to your comment .... 38. Chris; I'm not at all surprised you have no children. You'd have to have some sort of connection to reality for that. I have seen Gerard Butler in exactly one film but I enjoyed his acting in that. He was being honest and realistic when he spoke to the paps but you clearly cannot understand such things. If you are going to accuse me of attacking you for telling the truth maybe you should try telling it in the first place. You'd better watch out before it comes up and bites you in the a$$.
He was only being vulgar and crass in the eyes of narrow-minded fools like you. I don't particularly care whether he looks hot or not, you were attacking him for his words not his body. If you had attacked his body as incorrectly as you attacked his words I would have accused you of being blind not idiotic. Your assumption that I would only attack you because I idolize him is as presumptuous as my assuming that a person who was objecting to the fact that an actor who was appearing in a film aimed towards children had used foul language was interested in protecting children. Now it turns out that you are not only a fool but a hypocrite.

Now you question not only my sanity but my honesty. Chris, if I was a rabid fan of his I would have come down on you much harder. I have seen him only in "300" which I actually watched because I like Frank Miller and wanted to see how they handled his graphic novel. I don't lie because I never need to. I appreciate that he has a good body but I prefer my men tall, slender and with leaner faces. I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers but... I think you're the one who needs to chill out. You have been far more vitriolic in your attacks than I have been. Or do you just not recognize a quietly logical argument when you read one. Your odd choice of writing style makes you appear scatter brained and foolish. All of that jumping around and sentence fragments makes me wonder if you can form a true english sentence. And if you can't write a sentence I must question your intelligence and education since most children are taught the rudiments of sentence structure before they leave third grade. As far as life advice, when you have spent as many years on this earth as I have with a lengthy successful marriage and career, I will consider your suggestions. Amy, perhaps you have not read the entire exchange. At first, I objected to her calling Gerard Butler crass because she clearly had not considered the provocation(s) he had suffered. Of course, she also referred to his word choice as profane, it is obscene not profane, unless you consider either his dog or Cameron Diaz to be a deity, but many people don't understand the difference so I did not call her on that one. As far as her calling him "hot", well, in my reply I explained that I was more interested in his acting than his body. She is the one who claimed that her dismay at his word choice was due to the children's film he is doing. I pointed out, truthfully, that if she wants to protect children from such language she needs to cut them off completely from the outside world. I also pointed out Mr. Butler was not the person who publicized his word choice and if there had been no video cameras invading his privacy at the time, no one would have known. I have been known to let loose an occasional swear when extremely frustrated or when I burn my hand while cooking. I did not tell her she shouldn't have children, merely that, because of her unworldliness , I was not surprised. My opinion is that Chris's naivety puts her in grave danger and she needs to learn more about the real world. As a mother, it is my obligation to teach children about the dangers they will face in their lives so that they will not falter at the first challenge.
Chris did indeed falter when I challenged her opinion by pointing out that there were other factors present that she had failed to consider. Her immediate reaction was a vitriolic attack upon the person who disagreed with her. It was my opinion she failed to respect, not I hers. It would have been quite simple for her to state her disagreement at which point we could have agreed to disagree. Instead she declared that I could not possibly know that Gerard Butler had been asked the same questions repeatedly whereas a simple perusal of the gossip sites and gossip magazines would have made it obvious that celebrities are hunted by the paparazzi and continually have this sort of question shouted at them. I am more surprised that he kept his temper this long and even then only used a reductio ad absurdem which included a four letter word.
Subsequently, since I had not immediately agreed or perhaps disappeared after the attack but had the gall to challenge her lack of knowledge about the way the world works, she accused me of being a "rabid" fan, a liar, and a paranoid lunatic. When I countered by pointing out her hypocrisy, she repeated her attack in even more vitriolic form, referring among other things to my "unnatural devotion" to a man because I said I was more interested in his acting than his body. At my age, well past menopause, my appreciation for such a man can only be academic even if I weren't married. I don't know whether Chris expected me to retreat in confusion due to her confusing attacks but that has never been my style and it will not be now. I was taught to give as good as I got and as long as she continues in her ridiculous and childish attacks upon me I will continue to point out the errors in her ways. This is not the first time I have been involved in such a conflict and I am sure it will not be the last since I will suffer no one to try to take my good name. As Shakespeare said, "A man who steals my purse, steals trash, ... but he that filches from me my good name robs me of that which ... makes me poor indeed."
As far as Gerard Butler and Cameron Diaz being a good match, I wouldn't know since I don't know enough about their true personalities to have an opinion.
