Dr. Phil Pulls the Plug on Teen Violence Show

TMZ has received an exclusive statement from a spokesperson for the Dr. Phil show:

"We have helped guests and potential guests in the past when they need financial assistance to come on the show - assisting with clothing allowance, lost wages, accommodations, travel and necessities. In this case, certain staff members went beyond our guidelines (re: the bail being paid). These staff members have been spoken to and our policies reiterated. In addition, we have decided not to go forward with the story as our guidelines have been compromised."

This isn't the first time Dr. Phil has had a show idea blow up in his face ... this year!

61. Darn that imposter "doctor" Phil! He has been 1000 times harder on kids who did far, far less on his "show". Thing is, it wasn't Phil, himself, who bailed this idiot out of jail, but someone in charge of developing stories for his show. I wonder how much Dr. Phil really had to do with this. Nevertheless, does NOT look good AT ALL. I think we might be getting close to being done with doc Phil. Hope he has invested well.

62. this country needs HILLARY CLINTON to be the next president!
Sen Obama is a good guy, and the dust-up over the "cling to guns" business is mostly meaningless EXCEPT to the extent that CLINTON can exploit it to help her win Pennsylvania and the Democratic Party NOMINATION!
Mercy!!!

63. glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks those little cheerleaders and their boyfriends should learn a lesson about reality by spending a very long time in hardcore grown-up prison! In the real world, when you strike someone, they press charges for assault, and you get punished as you should, Princesses! Time to grow up and lose mommy and daddy's protection! Dr.Phil should be prosecuted, taken off the air, and forced to spend time in a confined space with Dr. Laura...an equally offensive and un-credentialed "Dr."

Humble yourself Phil. Talk about running around the barn! Yea, this potential guest should be provided with necessities and allowances! *L* You have got to be on crack! I have but one question for you - Who the hell is your advisor??! Now I will follow that question with a suggestion - Fire them! Really just fess up. Your action in this was beyond stomach turning. Not to mention downright greedlust.

Never forget Phil that lipstick on a pig, is still a pig!

66. Dr.Phil, I am soooo over you!

67. His guests only go on that show for freebies = as much free stuff as they can get. That is all they care about.

If this girl should injure or kill someone, Phony Phil should be held personally responsible. How dare he and how dare NBC NOT CANCEL HIS SHOW. All other shows on that network should complain loudly and maybe that would get this dangerous fool off the airwaves for good.

68. Sorry NBC. I just realized he is on CBS (2) at 4:00 p.m. I haven't watched this fool since Katie Couric went to CBS or maybe even before that. Anyway, how could any other program on that network not complain? He makes everone he associates with look as bad as he is.

69. I have two thoughts about Dr. Phil. One for and one against. While the advice he gives to a lot of people seems obvious after he's said it, sometimes it takes someone like a Dr. Phil for it to actually sink into people's heads. It tells the other people that the situation in serious if you're willing to take your problems onto the national airwaves.
On the other hand there's a line from a song that always runs through my head when I hear about something like this.
"If you didn't know about that one then what else don't you know"

70. Never has a person rose so fast and dropped soooo hard. It's over Phillip.

71. Wow, as they said this is the second time this year that Dr Phil has decided to not go along with doing a show. Dr Phil needs to learn that there are some things that are not meant to be put on TV for the whole public to see. Come on, does Dr Phil not have the common sense to know when he is going to far? I think the only reason why he has canceled this show and the Britney Spears show is because we the public are reminding him that he is going too far. This goes to show us what money and fame can do to a person! Dr Phil needs to mind his own business and remember that not all things are meant to be on TV! Plus why did he decide to bail one of the girls out of jail? She did something wrong and she needs to do her time for her crime!!!!!!!!

72. Hey Lenn K., Hope you and yours are well. He has had a lot of success and should be ok. BJ, I posted back 2 u on G.B.

Why couldn't Phillip just let guest come to him? When he "seeks" them out it always goes bad.

Retire to Oklahoma Phil and your family will be fine. Don't die of boredom there though. It happens everyday so be careful.

73. I think Dr. Phil has gone too far. He needs to see a psychologist!

74. He's gonna be in deep shi* for this. Get this clown off the air. Let's complain to CBS.

75. Sorry Kelli, I can't find it/didn't see it. How's it going?

I think I've heard rumors that everything is not well in Chez Phil but then there are always rumors. I'd probably dump his a$$ but then my hubby doesn't make a fool of himself on national TV
