Britney Had Cosmetic Damage Before Crash

Minutes before Britney Spears caused a three car crash on a Saturday night, she was driving the same way most women in L.A. do -- putting on her makeup behind the wheel!

TMZ spoke with the guy she hit, who says before the accident, he was admiring the white Mercedes and the woman putting on makeup while driving it. It wasn't until after she hit him at an estimated 10-15 MPH that he realized the woman was Britney. The man also says he wasn't sure if she was still putting on makeup at the time of the crash.

After the smash up, Britney's bodyguard apologized for the incident, but Britney never got around to doing the same. Brit and the 21-year-old crashee only exchanged a few words, but she did mention she was on the way to dinner with her mom.

As far as the field sobriety test is concerned, the crashee says officers performed the ol' "follow my finger test" on Brit. At first she was giggly, but she got real serious real quick. BTW -- she was the only person involved who was tested. CHP claims the test was S.O.P. telling us, "We do a standard check on most drivers .... especially during those hours."

While no injuries were reported on the scene, the man claims that he woke up with a sore back this morning and is looking into booking an appointment with a chiropractor.

137. It doesnt matter what the guy was doing -if you rear end someone its your fault If I slam on my breaks to avoid a dog or child and you hit me from behind you pay or your insurance does. And so what if this 21 year old is trying to get rich quick off Britney Thats the american way. Deal with it

138. I have been in an accident caused by someone going through a red light at a higher speed than that - turned the jeep i was in 360 degrees - no need to see a doctor or a chiropractor - guess he thinks easy money considering what has been going on with Brit.

139. Well, I was in an accident where someone hit me from behind going around 10-15 mph. I _did_ have neck injuries which required a few months of doctor's care. Whether there's an injury that requires medical treatment or not depends on a lot of factors: the exact position of the head, neck, shoulders, and body at the time of impact, the relative speeds of the two cars, how the car moves after it is hit, the way the car seats are configured, how the seat belts are positioned on the body at the time of impact, whether air bags were involved and how they inflated, etc. etc.

Also, I didn't start feeling neck pain until a day or so after the accident.

My insurance paid my doctor, and the other driver's insurance company reimbursed my insurance company. It was all handled almost automatically. The other driver was cited, and I wasn't.

On the other hand, I don't believe that guy could have seen Britney putting on makeup, and I agree that he's probably trying to capitalize on this accident.

Like I said I guess we'll have to wait until someone is killed before this nut has her license revoked.

142. If she's out driving today or in the next couple of days, I will lose all respect for Poppa Spears' job of being able to control her! But we all know, if she is driving, it will be because SHE has forced the issue! It will also mean he is losing control over her. If she simply must have her ego stroked though, they should buy her a limo to feed her ego. We'll then be able to still laugh at her ego, but she will still feel 'special'. The rest of of can just think of it as another variation of a 'short bus'. Maybe they can buy or rent a yellow limo!

148. Here's a thought. If he had to brake suddenly to stop himself hitting the car in front why did the car in front have to stop suddenly?
Have a go at him for not paying attention but he still stopped. Now what was brit doing that she couldn't stop in time. Was she watching the car in front like she was supposed to. Well as she hit someone no.
Maybe she was putting her makeup on or not but she wasn't paying attention to the car in front and wasn't driving at a correct distance.
So how can you have ago at someone for not doing something when she so obviously wasn't doing the same thing!?!

You britards really do have blinkered vision.

On a side note if i see a woman putting her makeup on or someone on the phone, messing with the radio etc i have a look. It's like not being able to stop watching a car crash. The stupidity of the person doing those actions compels me too just like it does for a lot of people but i'm still able to avoid having a crash. Like the first driver. It's usually the woman with the makeup or the idiot on the phone that can't.

149. First off I woke up with a sore back after my accident it wasn't because of money, but injuries caused rarely show up immediately. Though at only 10-15mph it might be suspicious.

However I'm offended by the statement that most women put on make up in their car. I don't neither do any of my friends and family, in fact I don't know one who does. It's a serious insult.

150. Of course he is goimg to try to get $$$, its a lawsuit nation unfortunately!! I also agree with an earlier post about your story being sexist and I am a man. Also give it up about Britney, things seem to be geting better for her, things are looking up for her, she even looks better than she has in a long time. MUST you always have to report on things negatively?? It was a fender bender at the most, no big deal. Leave her alone for gods sake and move on!! Your site is always the same old same old!! Can't you do better than this? You get to be boring, maybe TMZ's15 minutes of fame is over??
