The Rich Life!
Michael Johns: The Stiff From Down Under

He got no job, and now he got no money!

Just days after getting booted from "American Idol," Michael Johns hit LAX, where he gave a skycap a big fat tip ... of nothing.

Johns was polite about the stiffing, but dude -- if you got no money, don't use the skycap!

31. Treat others well, and you will be treated well. Treat others like crap, and it will always come back to bite you in the arse.

33. I SO AGREE with #18---I have wondered this very same thing for years and years. Christmas and holidays are crazy with the mail man. Even he has his hand out at that time looking for "more." I don't get tipped where I work why does everyone else look to have there salary "subsidized" by the average working american in the U.S. These big companies like Starbucks D.D all have there tip jars out. Pay the people for Chis sake. Ferrrget it!

34. Wow. This is BEYOND petty of TMZ. Michael Johns has been portrayed as NOTHING but a gentleman (a very talented one, at that!) this entire season! He's had no controversy; other than Ryan's/A.I's CRAPPY way of kicking him off. What was THAT all about?

35. Rigged?? Take a look at Paula every time someone gets the boot. Acting is not her specialty. She always tries to act SO shocked - lame, lame, lame. As for MJ, he went too soon. Hopefully next week will be someone who actually SHOULD go. Like any one of the FEMALES!!!!

37. All he has to do is reclaim his Oz heritage. They'll not only love him Downunder for coming to America and making good, but they will pay to see him. I hear the Sydney Opera House isn't a bad gig.

42. I am in Australia and I don't think I have ever tipped anyone. It is not usual practice here because, why should you give people money who are just doing what they are being paid for? It probably didn't even cross his mind to hand over any money to the guy. Absolutely no idea why tips are such a big thing in America. Don't you people pay people to work over there?

43. Oh, I just defended him not tipping because he is Australian and not used to tipping, then read that he has lived there for 10 years. Maybe he wanted to get away from TMZ cameras and just didn't tip. Or maybe he doesn't believe in tipping. Surely the people that do these jobs get paid? I suppose if they get paid under a decent living wage I would be tipping because everyone deserves to be paid a decent wage regardless of the job.

44. Why the holy heck to people in America expect customers to give them money out of their own pockets simply for doing their job? I work in retail in Australia, and certainly don't get paid good money, but I don't have my hand out for tips. I think it's rude to be expected to fork out extra cash (particularly in places like restaraunts), where you are already paying for the items or services you are recieving. Tipping just bewilders me... If your wages are so low that you naturally expect people to spare you some change, get yourself a job that pays properly. It makes me uncomfortable, particularly because I myself don't have a lot of money to spare.

45. So what if he does not tip? We do not tip in our country. I do not think there is a law in the united states that you should tip. You are just sensationalizing it cause he is Michael Johns. Are you watching all the passengers in the airport and have counted how many are not giving tips? I, for one, never give tips.

Give the guy a break. You are just adding insult to injuries.
