31. This is not Mormon Missionary behavior. They have obviously strayed. The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints does not endorse this sort of behavior. Where they may be good looking, and where they may have served a mission, this is not Church behavior at all. Your body is a temple and should be exposed in such a manner. This is immodest in the Churches eyes and for it to be public in such a way shows us a being bad people and we are not. Please go to www.lds.org or www.mormon.org for any information concerning the Church, modesty or if you just want to learn more.

32. OK, to those who say that this is a hoax, I have to say, "Huh?" Why can't these be practicing mormons? It's not like every member of the LDS church will follow its teachings. Now, if you want to say that these men will be having some serious meetings with their bishops very soon about their temple recommends (and possibly, their membeship at all), that's one thing, but who is to say that these men weren't members in good standing prior to this shoot?

33. As a practicing Mormon, I am highly offended by the remarks about our 'magic underwear"? Would you make fun of the robes a Catholic priest wears or a turban, or a yamake? (sp?) Whether you believe in the Mormon religion or not, or any of the other religions mentioned, show some RESPECT! To make fun of something that is sacred to the Mormon religion is not only offensive, but closed minded, rude and shows a blatant lack of respect and education. I have to laugh at all of the craxy misconceptions many of you have regarding what we do or do not believe-pur not drinking tea or coffee is not because we think it is "sinful" it's because we believe that its physically bad for us and we wear swim suits like any other normal person! I have to point out that these crazy ideas are at best laughable, at worst discrimatory. Again I post the question, would you laugh at a fundamental Muslim who believe in the full dress, covering all but a womans eyes or a Catholic who wears a cross and rosary? Think before you open your big mouth-your stupidity is showing! If you want to comment or pass judgement on ANY religion, I suggest that you atleast read up on it and know your facts before you start spouting your uneducated, biased garbage!!!!!

34. So unappealing in every way. And SOOOOOOOOOO gay. The Mormons are whacko for $$$$$$$$$$$ (among other things) but I really doubt they would sponsor this crap.

35. OhCanada, Where have you been? People make fun of muslims' dress constantly, ever heard the term diaperhead??? Why should the Mormans be exempt, people constantly trash on each others religion. I don't really like it but don't act like you are the only victim out there.

Posted at 4:50PM on Apr 15th 2008 by did I say that out loud?

36. I have it on good authority that Mormons do have secret sacred rituals that involved stripping off but tere are no cameras present. And a landlord I know caught two Mormon elders in his building in a bathtub together. Another sacred ritual???

37. YAWN! Cheesecake calendars, of either sex, are gettting so old!! I guess people need fantasy pictures to get them thru their lives rather than dealing with life as it is....real.

38. #36......I am an active Mormon/LDS and I am curious as to what sacred rituals you are speaking of, and we aren't perfect. Some missionaries turn out gay.....nobody is perfect.

39. Despite what some people think, these guys are ALL Mormon, as were the guys in last years calendar. I actually know some of them, because I recruited a couple of them.

Also, despite what people think, none of the guys that were in last years calendar or in this years have been excommunicated from the Church. There have actually been three official statements from the Church about the calendar, and not one of them condemned the project. In fact, they've been supportive. You can google articles in the Washington Post and a newspaper in Arizona to see the three statements.

Let me also express the fact that it's okay to take off the garments for these photos. There are lot of overzealous members of the Church or outside of it who are quick to condemn these photos. There have actually been quite a few Abercrombie & Fitch models who are Mormon, lots of perfomers in the Church who take them off for plays, movies, and shows (it even happens at BYU, mercy me, who'd have thought that!), and more who take them off for their perfromances, sports, or jobs. It's actually not a big deal at all. As for it being "Magic" underwear, well, that's not quite true. But go ahead with your assumptions, it just makes an ass out of you. This is, like many other things, is just a job.

Also to my knowledge is that all the models are active members. Again, maybe some aren't, but if that's so, the majority certaintly are. How do I know this? Because I was Mr. April in last years calendar. Yep, I'm Jonathan. I'm Mormon, I'm active, I'm straight (just ask my girlfriend), and I'm not afraid to talk about it. My webpage is at www.myspace.com/officialjonathanmartin. You can even email me and ask me if this is really me, and I will email you back and confirm that yes, it is. However, if your just going to be a bigot, I'll probably tell you that that is what you are, and I'll just leave it at that.

On a final note, and this has more to do with those who are Mormon, than those who are not (but can apply to those who wish it to apply to them): "Judge not lest ye be judged."

Or how about just, "He without sin cast the first stone", Don't know who said that one... oh wait a minute... yeah, I do.

If you're going to quote scriptures kiddos, I can do it too. So let's stop pandering to the masses, and get on with it. Besides, if you're coming to a site like tmz.com, you've obviously got a sweet tooth for the provactive. So let's stop being hypocrites, and live and let live.

Oh yes... and I'm working really hard to find some returned missionaries who AREN'T white bread. It's a goal of ours to try and get more diversity this year. So if anybody knows of any who'd be interested, just go to my site and email me. Thanks to those who care.

40. So, the same people that talk about decency and family values... strip their hot young flesh, snap pictures, and sell half-nekkid Mormon bods...? Not that I have a problem with that, but talk about hypocrites! More M-meat please!

41. Ummmm.....I'm mormon and see no problem with them posing half nude for money. It's called a job,Modeling. Get a sense of humor. This is not a place to discuss religion. For those interested in learning the facts can read it for yourself on lds.org or mormon.org or jesuschrist.lds.org

42. I wonder if Tom (Thumb) Cruise has contacted those guys yet to ask them to convert to Scientology?

43. Bad Mormons!

44. Mormons = Waste of space, These guys are worthless, stupid, useless, Mormons are plastic zombies.

Posted at 8:41PM on Apr 15th 2008 by Tigger

45. Relax, have a sense of humor! I think that it's great that these good looking young men are confident and comfortable with themselves, and obviously proud to be Mormons - or they wouldn't have put themselves out there like this. Keep the faith guys!
