47. Some bloggers claim these are Australian models and not LDS boys at all. Judging by the absence of "garments" and the poses and deep tans that can't be from Moab, I gotta agree.

Man on a mission, indeed. Brigham Young U's Missionary Training Center isn't turning out a lot of guys who look like this. Fetch yeah!

48. I am an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I am offended by many of these comments.
My religion is so misunderstood. I joined this church when I was twenty-five (five years ago) so I know both sides of the story. Before I became a member, I thought Mormons were all crazed polygamists too. What I learned is that our prophet received divine inspiration that polygamy was necessary at that time. It has not, however, been practiced in many, many, years.

All you bashers out there, you can say whatever it is that your misinformed, ignorant, bigoted selves wish. We know the truth, and so will you one day.

As for #25 saying Mormons believe caffeine is sinful, you are wrong. We believe it is unhealthy. We as a whole believe that we should be as healthy as possible, and that is why we don't believe in consuming caffeine, alcohol, or in smoking.

#32........As for your comment about Mormons "being whacko for $$$$$$$$$$" you are so off base it's ridiculous. We are counseled to avoid debt whenever possibe. We are advised that mothers should try to avoid working outside the home whenever possible (it is best for our children) thus eliminating another income. Is that whacko for $$$$$ ?

Members of our church voluntarily (and gratefully) give back 10% of our income to the church; it's called tithing. We believe it comes from God's blessings anyway. That 10% goes back to help members of our community. Those that are having difficulty paying rent, keeping electricity on, and buying groceries. My 4-year-old daughter almost died when she was a baby and was hospitalized about three hours from home. Members of the Mormon church in that area, whom i had never met, came to visit and helped us financially, and it made them feel good to do it.

We are not money hungry. We would rather help someone in need than line our pockets a little more. It is hurtful to read something that is so founded in ignorance and rumor.

50. As a practicing Mormon, I am highly offended by the remarks about our 'magic underwear"? Would you make fun of the robes a Catholic priest wears or a turban, or a yamake? (sp?) Whether you believe in the Mormon religion or not, or any of the other religions mentioned, show some RESPECT! To make fun of something that is sacred to the Mormon religion is not only offensive, but closed minded, rude and shows a blatant lack of respect and education. I have to laugh at all of the craxy misconceptions many of you have regarding what we do or do not believe-pur not drinking tea or coffee is not because we think it is "sinful" it's because we believe that its physically bad for us and we wear swim suits like any other normal person! I have to point out that these crazy ideas are at best laughable, at worst discrimatory. Again I post the question, would you laugh at a fundamental Muslim who believe in the full dress, covering all but a womans eyes or a Catholic who wears a cross and rosary? Think before you open your big mouth-your stupidity is showing! If you want to comment or pass judgement on ANY religion, I suggest that you atleast read up on it and know your facts before you start spouting your uneducated, biased garbage!!!!!

51. Wow-I am constantly amazed by the crazy things people say and or believe about our religion! We are plastic or we have these rituals where we take off our clothes...the list goes on and on. Do you know how uneducated the mafority of you sound? If you don't understand a religion, before you go around perpetuating tacky urban myths, why don't you actually look into it? Do some research? We are NO different than any other Christian religion, each religion has it's own belief system and methodolgy in carrying those beliefs out. I just think it is terribly crass and low class to laugh at what you don't understand-however it is a trend through out history that people will attack and make up idiotiac stories about things they cannot understand or are afraid of. I don't pretend to understand all of the inner workings of the Catholic church or Islam, however I certainly will not perperuate and/or believe every old wives tale that the local crack pot is peddling. We are all free to worship in our own way and NOBODY has the right to teardown or attack others for their beliefs. Live and let live-and as the old adage states: if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all. Oh and one final not from the person who told me that Muslims etc do get made fun of-that's a terrible thing and I am saddened that youare so flippant about it. Nobody can judge what one man holds sacred and another doesn't-its not our job to pass that judgement and I just think we need to be more respectful of ALL races and religions.
Ok...I will get off my soap box now!

52. I thought I was going to see celerbrities bashed on TMZ. Why do "mormons" qualify as celebrities? Is Harvey L. Jewish? I wonder what he would think if all of these comments were about his faith. I always feel a little quilty reading TMZ because it is really just gossip and trash, but now I just feel a little sick to my stomach. This opened my eyes to how hurtful TMZ can be to the individual being made fun of and bashed. As far as the calendar goes -- Who are you kidding? There is clearly way more to the story behind this calendar than we know -- clearly not anything connected to the faith or anything to do with missionary work -- at least not any mission I've heard of -- a mission is about selfless service -- not drawing attention to yourself.

53. This is interesting. I have to say I am not a mormon but their church would not agree with this for sure. They are told to keep all the commandments and that is just one of the 5 steps according to Kimball, a mormon apostle at the time when he wrote the 5 steps. If they commit the same sin more than once they are not assured of forgiveness. Wonder if these guys have been in the temple? Only about 20% people are good enough to get in there. Nobody is this perfect!! Maybe their bodies are. No wonder Utah is the number one depressed state. That may be why, maybe not, sure makes one wonder though. I wonder if these guys are worried about getting into the mormon's 3rd level of heaven, celestial kingdom? Have to have kept the entire law to get there and its in question what those laws may be. "It does not mean one thing, it means all things." And "trying is not enough." What is left for Jesus to do? I'm sure these are GREAT GUYS.. Like someone else said, not everyone follows their religion. None of us do all the time.

54. # 24, no I don't believe the bible tells people to do those things and you know that because it is part of your doctrine. You do read the "Holy" bible but according to LDS it has been so corrupted over the yrs, yet mormons do use it. Wonder why. Look up LDS contradictions and you will find that there is one God in the Book of Mormon and in Doctrine and Covenant the theory of plural gods and not One God theory. Polygmy condemned in Book of Mormon yet commanded in Doctrine and Covenant. Church members who tithe will not burn. Lets not forget blacks weren't accepted, they are now. Before they changed their law, they considered blacks ignorant and not worthy, including their children. Forgiven for murder in nephi, book of mormon. But not forgiven for murder in D&C. For paid ministry in Book of Mormon, against it in D&C. God's word unchangeable in book of mormon then God's word can change in D&C. God dwells in the heart in book of mormon but in D&C God doesn't dwell in the heart. No Pre-existance of man in Book of Mormon, then D&C man pre-existed. These are a list of many other problems. You can look up lds contradictions and get the verses to read in you doctrines.
Temple secrets. Did you know there have been women reporting that they have been groped during rituals in the temple where they have to cover themselves and holes are left open for people to reach in and anoint them? I know that can happen anywhere. Just here lately they changed that so only the same sex can do it. Word teaches, Grace for salvation by Jesus, then works to show our love to Christ. Not works then what we don't acheive, He, Jesus, can pick up the rest. Just wanted to let people know of these contradictions. And when did mormonism start, 1800's and the mormon doctrine has changed 4,000 times? The bible has been around for how long? There are these huge contradictions in LDS scripture in the simple beliefs. Marriage in heaven? The bible teaches when the husband or wife dies, they are no longer bound to the law of marriage, they are loosed. Also their is neither male nor female in Christ. Secret rituals in the temple. Did you know that at one point in the temple rules if you told someone the temple secrets your throats will be slashed and bowels taken out. Of course that has been changed too. Any true mormon who has been in the temple knows all these rules will not tell you because they made an oath. Look it up. To be saved into the the celestial kingdom one must keep all the laws, "not try, trying is not good enough", you must keep them. And what are these laws? Who knows, "It is all things." Read miracle of fogivenesss. This is impossible to live by. I have to say the guy titled it correctly, it would be a miracle to get forgiven.

56. One more thing...and this is directed at the author of post 44-what do you mean we act the way we do becausewe believe we are saved by works not grace? How DO WE behave? We do not believe that we are saved only by works, we believe grace without works is dead and vice versa, it takes both to be truly "saved." After ALL we can do, then grace is what saves us-to believe that works was all that it took would completely negate the need for Jesus and God. Why would we need them when we can save ourselves? It is simply not true. I find it funny that people always have to go back to the whole polygammy thing-every religion has their questionable moment (although we believe it was directed by God) if the worst you can come up with for us is polygammy, then I think we are doing pretty good-considering you have the Spanish Inquisition, The Crusades as the two biggest examples of "past issues' with other churches. From a very basic stand point, one of the reasons polygammy was instituted through the direction of God, was because there were SO many widows and children going hungry because SO many of the Mormon men were killed by the mobs of men who beat and tarred and feathered them and if they didn't die at the hands of an angry mob, many ended up in jail or died on the thousands of miles they walked to escape the persecution they suffered and enter the Salt Lake Valley. These woman had nobody to look after them, it wasn't like they could just go get on welfare or receive aid-somebody had to help them. I don't expect that bit of info will change number 44'sind, but I think it will help others understand there was more to the whole polygammy story than met the eye. Another example of judge not lest ye be judged!

57. Ok...all you Mormons out there. I have lived in Utah almost my entire life and have friends that have left the "Church". I know what goes on in the Temple during weddings (playing dress up and all that), having your genitals "anointed", obtaining secret temple names (the woman can't know her husband's name, but he knows hers so he can "call her" to his own planet and start a new world when she dies, etc. And, the strange thing about the caffeine business. Since the "Church" bought stock in Coca Cola, it's been OK to have COLD caffeine, not HOT caffeine. What's up with that? I see these garment wearing Mormons sucking down their Big Gulp refill cups full of Coke and Diet Coke in 48 oz. sizes all day. Explain that one to me. I'll bet you can't. And what's really sad is that the "Church" is extremely sexist, biased, and Utah has the highest teen pregnancy rate per capita in the country. Hmmm...can't be the whole 30% of non-members in Utah making that statistic. And the only reason Mormons gave up Polygamy is because Federal law refused to make Utah a state in the Union unless they did. Do your homework, people. And the crap about letting blacks hold the Priesthood back in the 70s? Yup...again, scrutiny from outsiders forcing another "Revelation". And I'm just getting started. And to you women out there that are Mormon- do you like being considered subordinate to men? Just asking. Any other stupid defenses you'd like to make about your cult? Oh, and by the way, study up on Masonry. I'll bet you'll be surprised to see the rediculous "borrowed" similarities. Coincidently, Joseph Smith was way into Masonry. Ok...that's all for now.

58. Oh, and by the way, OhCanada, learn how to spell "polygamy". It's your church's history. Also, some good comments, Jorgia.

59. Mountain Meadow Massacre....everybody sins. We all do. The bible teaches the only way to salvation is by Christ, not works. We do things for Christ because we love him, not for our salvation. The bible is very clear on that. Epheisians 2 8 For we are saved by grace, not works, lest anyone should boast. We are saved through grace alone. How could we when the bible teaches if we fail at one law , we fail at them all? How could we possibly keep all the laws? One does have to keep all the laws to get into the Celestial Kingdom. If you don't agreee with this then you need to read more of your doctrine. What does that mean? Mormon leader says it means "all things". We could never be this perfect. So one might say well it is grace to get into heaven, but then we must keep all laws and be perfect to get into the celestial kngdom. That's not grace because one has to do "many things" to get there. And what are the many things? You won't till you get there? We are sured of our salvation in Christ!!!! I just get a little excited, please forgive me honestly, but people need to know the truth.
I have to say this is MORMONISM EXPOSED. These might be great guys but it brings people the truth about their religion. Bet these guys had no idea this would get people talking so much!!
Now what about Jospeh Smith and his 50 some prophesies? A prophet cannot get one prophecy wrong. Mormonism is based on this guy. Have they come true? No. They say the prophecy did for cival war breakout did but also know that at the time pretty much everyone else knew it was to happen too.
His wife didn't want him to have other women. But he did it anyway because it was a "divine revelation". A divine revelation that destroys a marraige, and yet now it is not okay to do. But will be in heaven. Brigham Young said to become gods we must partake in polygmy. But then the book of mormon says there is ONLY ONE GOD.
ISAIAH 43:10 BEFORE ME THERE WAS NO GOD FORMED NOR WILL THERE BE AFTER ME. Mormonism teaches plural gods.
Mormons may give 10%, tithing, but notice their church will never say how much the church makes. Why not? I've not known of a church to do this. Don't the leaders need to be held accountable? They do in the temple. These are supposedly the most holiest people working there, yet they do lock the drawers you put your stuff in when you go there. Interesting. I'm not against mormons. I love them, I have people at work that are mormons and I love them. They are nice, great people. I believe they just haven't read much of their own doctrine.

60. To all LDS writers: why don't you address the issue I brought up about non-LDS parents not being allowed to witness their LDS son or daughter get married in the Temple. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH A RELIGION THAT DOES NOT ALLOW PARENTS TO ATTEND THEIR CHILD'S WEDDING IN THE TEMPLE. You may claim it is SACRED... but it is SECRET. My wedding vows were sacred, but all could attend. How about you LDS members explain what must be worn and who you meet throughout the wedding Temple Ceremony?
