"Big Love" Keeps it Real?

The ladies on HBO's polygamist drama "Big Love"...

... and female members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Yearning for Zion Ranch.

Only one of them represents the real housewives of Schleicher County, Texas.

We're just sayin'!

16. I can't believe our government took ALL the kids from the compond, after all, aren't the teeage girls the only ones in eminient danger? I know people will disagree, but I have a 5 year old and a 6 year old. What genius decided the children 5 and up didn't need to be with their mothers? Well, at least they didn't kill them all like at Waco.

17. There are reports that many of the children were physically abused from a young age. So not just the teenage girls were in danger. Just another example of corruption covered up by religion.

19. Big Love is a more modernized version of polygamy. Only one wife adheres to the old values for the most part. They make that pretty clear on the show. They are trying to live in regular society rather than being confined to a compound.

25. All of the children were in danger and legally a teenager is still defined as a child! It is illegal to engage in any sexual conduct with a minor regardless if the teen wants to, like some of these wackos have said on television. A teenager cannot consent to sex or marriage. I think the government had every right to remove the children. These woman need some serious deprogramming and counseling. If consenting adults want to be in a multi-partner relationship, then more power to them but once children are forced into sex, marriage, and child birth, the police should break the door down and arrest all of the adults.

27. 32 - what I know about Waco is 80 people died - Our government needs to handle these situations better! The older children could be separated & interviewed. A 5 or 6 year old will not tell a stranger about their favorite color, much less about abuse. The mothers could of been left with the 0 - 10 or 12 year olds, under supervision. They could get all the testimony they need from the older kids, and not scare the little ones.

29. Um...none of the sect members is from Texas, they only moved there some years ago when they started feeling heat at their original location. I can't blame them for wanting to relocate to the great state of Texas but they by no means represent the true people of Texas. And they obviously do not represent housewives either, they represent the oppressed and abused if anything, oh yeah, and the delusional.
