33. Big Love is the best show! It wasn't anything that interested me at ALL but I watched the first episode and was HOOKED. It wasn't anything like I thought it would be!

I went to school in Utah for two long, agonizing years. When guys (good Mormon boys, each and every one of 'em...) found out I was not Mormon, but in fact a "Gentile" (their word for any non-LDS believer) I was shunned. They all men and women both, wear glazed-over, expressionless masks - as if every single one of them were made from plates in a printing press. SCARY!!!

This is such a sad story and pathetic victims (women and mothers who were children themselves when they were robbed of their youth and had their early teen virginity taken by these older white males). I feel sorry for the 400 plus children that are, essentially, wards of the State of Texas right now. Psychologically, they must be in quite a mess as they've been suddenly torn-away from this very peculiar social environment, their strange mothers, probably sexual and physical abuse, while now being poked and prodded emotionally, mentally, and physically by total strangers regarding the only lifestyle they've ever known.

With the exception of the new buildings, these women appear to be living only a slightly different lifestyle from that of the mid-1800's....it's obvious they have been brainwashed as they come across as half-dead.

43. Even though the style is exactly the same, the colors are decided by which husband she belongs to. In this day and age to be so controlled that you dress exactly the same and wear the color assigned to your "family" shows there has been years of indocrination. They live in fear that if they don't do what they are told and "keep sweet" about it, they will be damned forever. It can't be good for children to continue to be raised in such complete control, it reminds me of the taliban. In the end, not much good can come from it, at least at this extreme fundamental level.

45. I live in Central Illinois and this type of dress is not much different than a lot of Apostolic Christians around here, except the ACs wear head coverings! Very bizarre!
