77. Extreme metal is always going to have people bashing it, its just the way it is. Most of these guys are incredably talented musicians. Many of them are even classically trained. Unfortunatly these genres of metal have a bad stigma attached to them in this country for a myriad of reasons. If you don't like the music, you don't have to listen to it. For my money, extreme metal is some of the best music out there, though I realise there are throngs of people who would disagree. As for the way they dress etc. it is merely a theatric to enhance the performance, and who doesn't love a handsome Scandinavian man in black leather?

83. You can laugh when someone goes up there and makes the devil's horn sign, you can say it's harmless posing. But I know a little about what Weston was like as a child -- I won't say how, but he used to look very different, he was a flamingly gay pretty little boy. If he now is trying this hard to be macho, I'd say he is a seriously unstable individual.

Before this, Kimbo Slice was the man I'd least like to meet in a dark alley, but Weston may one day steal that position. He truly does have the recipe for a serial killer -- feelings of inadequacy and lack of talent stemming from famous parents -- homosexual self-hatred ( notice the blond girl with him, believe me, this guy is not into women ) -- and now stir in "Norwegian black metal" into the mix. Not good. Not good at all.

Oh, please, MercyHumppe@2:39PM - Parents everywhere said the same thing about Alice Cooper, and Alice Cooper plays (ed) golf in his time off with the likes of Pat Boone, various politicians and Wall Street types, and probably even clergy along with his syndicated radio show. It looks to me like young Cage is getting an early start on his career in showbiz, in a particular and thriving (btw) niche market someone called 'Black Metal', and doing it in an avenue that interests him at his age. These shows are packed with angsty and feeling disenfranchised suburban kids looking to hook up, who then go home and mow the lawn. Just as it was when you were young, with different music, surroundings and varying reasons for making the scene.

85. I feel compelled to point out that black metal, well extreme metal in general isn't aimed at angsty suburban teenagers. Those kids are more liekly to latch onto something a little more mainstream. I'd almost bet money those guys aren't sitting over there in Oslo thinking about the millions of American teenagers that are going to buy their albums. If that was their goal, they wouldn't play the type of music they do. Pigeonholing someone for wearing black leather and spikes as evil and possible a serial killer doesn't ever get you anywhere. I've been into the extereme metal scene for quite some time and I can guarantee you that most of the folks dressed like Weston are the nicest people you'll ever meet. They're just a little more in touch with their dark side.

89. It really amuses me as to how quickly people judge others simply based on the way they look. So they don't express themselves in the 'convventional way' but does that make them a bad person somehow? I find more times than not that the so called freaks are the more balanced of the human race. And I would almost bet money that most of you here have never even bothered to check out what Black Metal actually is to have any objective opinon about it one way or another. Most in the BM scene are highly educated individuals (college grads, grad shcool or above) unlike our hip hop culture that is so embraced by the mainstreat that encourages stupidity, BM actually empowers an individual to stive and achieve personal goals. Peaple think they are so morally righteous....ye shall throw the first stone.
