17. The old fart male anchors are the worst. Dan Rather? Gibson? Puh-leeze.

All broadcast news is over because news is owned and controlled by media conglomerates - so it is biased and filtered and sanitized. The networks are their own worst enemy by trying to control and own everything. This includes most news online, too, because the same congloms control those outlets.

It was a great idea to have a female anchor, it's just Couric hasn't been the right person. They need to try another woman, the same way they keep trying men until one fits.

18. This is what happens when your head gets too big. She thought she was way done with the Today Show and wanted to do serious news. She should have stayed and done the fluff stories on the Today Show - at least she got to dress up for Halloween, don't think they let her do that on the evening news ;)

19. Up against the other established news anchors in the evening slot, it was almost a given that she would not do well. A shame, really, as no one should want to see anyone fail, whatever the subject.
Agree, she should have stayed at the Today Show, where she was known to cut off the people she was interviewing, in order to give her viewpoints on a subject, something that became quite annoying. Meredith has done very well on the Today Show, and Couric should probably disappear at this point, maybe to go behind the scenes.

I like CNN and ABC I hope she doesn't go to either one of them if she does I will have to turn my channel so I don't have to watch the little Bitch to me she is terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stand to look at her NBC was more than happy to get rid of her you don't see the trying to get her back do you???????????????

21. THAT LES MOONVES IS THE BIGGEST JERK AT CBS. FIRST, HE HAD AN AFFAIR WITH JULIE CHEN WHILE
HE WAS MARRIED WITH CHILDREN. JULIE CHEN IS HALF HIS AGE AND WORKED FOR HIM. HE PROMOTED HER
TO EARLY SHOW NEWS ANCHOR AND GAVE HER THE BIG BROTHER GIG. UNBELIEVABLE THAT A CEO CAN GET
AWAY WITH THIS. AFTER HE AND CHEN MARRY - HE LURED JULIE CHENS BIGGEST COMPETITOR (KATIE COURIC)
TO CBS. HIS WIFE IS STILL IN 3RD PLACE ON THE EARLY SHOW. YET, JULIE CHEN STAYS BECAUSE
SHE IS LES MOONVES WIFE. KATIE COURIC, ON THE OTHER HAND, WILL BE GETTING THE AXE.

24. Katie Couric was out of her league big-time;one has to wonder what were her bosses thinking? She is very perky, satisfactory for the early A.M. show, which I never ever watched. However, she is a lightweight and doesnot, unfortunately, command any "authority," or project any friendliness, i.e. Charlie Gibson, that would make a person want to watch her. She has not made any contributions to the show;she is just a newreader. She should just take the millions she was paid and run.

27. No TV news program needs a $15,000,000 anchor to read the news from the teleprompter. And there is very little news anyway. The news programs have become more of an entertainment segment than presenting concise news reports. If Katie leaves, no loss, since CBS will fill the anchor chair with another overpriced talking head. I don't want opinions and sound bytes to replace hard news, but that seems to be all we can get from most network news programs.

30. What good are you if you are hopscotching from network to network to network.
If you do a morning program in one network and do serious nightly news in another
network and you get a hefty sum, of-course people will think the money was more
in question than her credibility as a news anchor. Now she goes to CNN and she will
fail in their too, this always happens when people transfer networks.
