"Idol" Reject Claims, The Show's Unfair!

Carmen RasumsenNot all "Idols" are treated the equally -- apparently some aren't even given a fighting chance, at least according to former contestant Carmen Rasmusen.

Rasmusen was on "Idol" back in 2 aught 3, going head to head (pun intended) with Clay Aiken. She told the Deseret News, most finalists were given "minimal voice coaching," but Clay's coach was on him like white on rice. To add insult to vocal injury, they had the same coach. Carmen says she threw a Hail Mary and hired her own coach, with pathetic results.

She went home in sixth place, to lead a life of obscurity and bitterness.

31. Clay Aiken has been starring on Broadway in Spamalot since January. His run will end May 4, and his fourth full CD 'On My Way Here' will be released on May 6. So, yes, he has new stuff. He has toured 8 times since Idol. So he has hardly faded from the scene.

32. hah this loser didn't even make it to the top 50.....for some reason, Simon put her back on the show....she was the WORST singer that year and should've finished last behind Corey Clark, Kim Caldwell, Julia DeMato, etc....she sounded like a goat when she sang...and now she's bitter......I think I remember her making comment sabout Kelly Clarkson when she forgot to thank AI at the Grammy's....like....who is this girl to talk?

33. JJ.. Clay is coming out with a new CD on May 6th, I have heard one song "On my Way Here", title track. But have also heard snippets of serval of the other songs. Really his best ever! Believe me you are going to see him everywhere! he already scheduled for Leno and Kimmel and a lot more! Just hang on, you won't be disappointed the alubm has music for everyone!

Shame Carmen said this because in her book she talked about what a good friend Clay was! Funny how these women like Carmen and Kimberly turn on the man they profess to have been so close to during the show. Are they just a little jealous..me thinks so!

34. Besides, why is she whining about what Clay had or didn't have?

If I remember correctly, didn't Ruben win? Why isn't she crying about that?

I think poooooor Carmen has a case of "Waaaaa, no one is paying attention to me! Maybe I can come up with some non-news and make people look at me!"

Well, honey, it worked. Thanks for reminding me how embarrassed we all were for you each week.

35. Perhaps the coaching went to those with TALENT---of which Clay Aiken had and has plenty of. Miss Carmen, perhaps they thought it would be just a waste of time with you. Also, TMZ, why waste your time (and ours) with this trivial nonsense

36. Because of Idol Rewind I remember her. She was the one with the strange vibrato in her voice which was painful to listen to her. You just wanted to slap her and tell her to stop it. But at times I thought it was the only wey she could sing. I have no idea how she made it in to the top 10 other than LDS fans. Does she somehow think thaty a place in the top 10 equals a singing carrier? As far as vocal coaching all she need was to stop that anoying vibrato. % yrs after who cares.
I mean if she wants to be famous all she has to do is go to rehab and make porn.

37. Just my opinion- You're really a hick idiot. The "Aught" reference in the story is from the late 18th Century and it's spelled with an A. The whole joke went over your dumba** head. You must have just got done w/ your GED class last night. Loser.

38. Oh, so now it is crystal clear. The reason Carmen Rasmussen didn't win American Idol was because it was rigged and the voice coach spent more time with Clay Aiken. Carmen is lucky she made it as far as she did on that show. If it was rigged, wouldn't the really talented people with real star power always win? Chris Daughty and Katherine McPhee lost to Taylor Hicks! I haven't heard anything from Taylor Hicks in a very long time but Daughtry and McPhee, as well as Kelli Pickler from that season are going strong. It doesn't make sense that the producers would rig the contest but then allow the real potential stars (and moneymakers) to be voted off.

39. She was only known as "The Goat Girl" during that season, because her vibrato sounding like a goat bleeting during the song. She had a "bahing" sound in her voice too. It was hilarious.

40. Hey sfcagirl, but her Religion is a factor. Mormons are competetive and they hate to lose. When they do, they say stupid things like the "show is rigged"! Don't downplay the LDS or FLDS. Anyone born into the Mormon church has an agenda and will say or do anything to attain their agenda. Whether it be having creepy incestuous relationships and mass-producing babies to achieve their super race or trying to win on American Idol.

41. I adore Carmen but the coaches knew that there are some
notes Carmen would never reach no matter how much they coached her.
She just wasn't good enough to win. Ever.

Even though I did want her to win.

42. Someone should just give Goat Girl a tin can to chew, and maybe she will shut up.

43. We called her Goat Throat. lol I would hate to see how she gets excited when she is with her husband.

Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

44. MAYBE THE VOICE COACH KNEW THERE WAS LITTLE USE IN WORKING WITH HER.
SHE WAS NOT A GREAT SINGER. INFACT SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE GONE AS FAR AS SHE DID.
SHE WAS CUTE, BUT CLAY HAD A VERY STRONG VOICE. I DON'T THINK HIS SINGING NEEDED THAT MUCH WORK I THINK THE APPERANCE IS WHAT REALLY NEEDED A MAKE OVER AND THE AI PEOPLE DID A REALLY GOOD JOB,

45. I remember her, she was okay. She came in sixth, that is good. She could have had a career if she put her heart and soul into having a career and not be angry because her 'career' didn't fall in her lap. If she wants to have a career as a singer/musician/actress or whatever, the door had been open for her but she didn't go through it. She should go knock on that door again and work for what she wants.
