24. I suppose if you want to make your money and acquire your significance through your husband, you'd better be as thin as possible and submit to the "man's world" way of thinking. Just like if you want to be a lawyer you'd better get a JD, if you want to be a trophy wife you'd better look good.

Thankfully, most women in this day and age set their sights higher than this and are not ruled by either fashion magazines or shallow men's opinion of them. In my experience, most men who have a "size requirement" aren't much to look at themselves. Funny how that works. Their size requirement has to do with how others will judge them if seen with the "size 10" and arises from insecurity not from true self-worth.

Thanks for your sermon. Interesting that you assume good looks cannot go hand in hand with other postive qualities. I get to spend time with my children and do charity work. I worked for five years before meeting my husband and you know what... being a wife and mother is much more rewarding to me. If you are happier in a different life so be it...but be honest is working in some cubicle weating a cheap polyester "suit" from the outlet mall that fufilling? My mother was a single mother (father never in the picture) she worked like a slave at a miserable insurance office...she was a good person who worked hard for her two girls but I know for a fact that work brought her no personal fufillment.

Perhaps you are in a profession where you can feel success and fufillment at work but guess what ...many people aren't. They are working to eat and pay the rent. I am so sick of people like you that think you are "open minded" and have found the answers when in reality you are no more accpeting of others and different lifestyles than people are with the 1958 mindset you criticize.

26. Interesting how you assume the very worst about anyone who questions you.

If you worked for 5 years that probably makes you no older than 27. That changes the picture entirely and if I knew that I wouldn't have bothered commenting, you don't have enough experience in life to see others' point of view.

You came out attacking anyone larger than a size 10 and bragging about what are eseentially your husband's achievements, not yours. You opened yourself up to criticism.

30. I agree with you 100%, 2008/1958. Miss trophy wife, it is never a good idea to pass someone elses acheivments off as your own, especially when you don't have the balls to hold your own against others. And if you actually did go to school, why don't you use your brains and actually put it to good work? And honey, if I meant absolutely nothing to you, you wouldn't get sooooo upset over my comments now would you?? Too funny! BTw, no one cares where you went to school especially since you don't put your degree to good use.....trophy wife.
