James Bond's Whip -- License to Spill

The guard railing is not enough: James Bond's quarter-million-dollar Aston Martin took a bath in Italy's Lake Garda yesterday when a stuntman drove the wheels off a cliff. And, no, it wasn't a stunt.

The car was reportedly the same Aston that was used in the last Bond flick, "Casino Royale," and was the only one available for use in the new movie, "Quantum of Solace." Meanwhile, the stuntman was quickly rescued and was not hurt. The next installment rolls out this fall.

16. uuuhh....does no one else think it's strange for there to be no injuries?? how can you drive off an embankment like that and not have an injury??

or, is that just technical, like when someone croaks at work, for insurance purposes, they always say they died en-route or at the hospital...

17. The BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7356916.stm says that the driver sustained minor injuries. Looks like the car is a wreck though. Extensive body work necessary. May be a total loss.

19. for #15 and in defence of TMZ - Skittery, all you have done is quote a different account of events. You don't know the one on the Mail's site is any more accurate. I was working on this story for a London newspaper - both the Mail and TMZ accounts (and several others) were submitted by respectable journalists. They couldn't even agree on the stuntman/Aston Martin worker's name - Dan Fraser, Fraser Daniel, Dan Fray, etc etc were all used. It's down to translation issues. So, it's a confusing incident, cut the usually reliable TMZ some slack!
