"Idol" Sticks It to Fan

"American Idol" has ruined something else besides the hopes and dreams of thousands -- a fan's dress!
Exclusive
A 17-year-old "Idol" lover is ticked off because a sticker they made her wear at an April 22 show-taping ruined her sequin dress. Maybe Ryan can loan her one!

When the fan realized Andrew Lloyd Webber was in the studio, she tried taking the sticker off so he could sign it, but the glue from the sticker wouldn't come off like a prom dress.

The girl doesn't want to sue "Idol" -- she just wants her soiled dress (which was a gift for her sweet 16) fixed. She's tried emailing "Idol" but only got an automated response. We tried calling for her (cause we're nice like that) but we haven't heard back. Where's a TMZ mole when you need 'em?!

61. I think they should pay for her dress. Fashion is very important, especially if it was a designer label.

63. When she's 20, she won't want a dress she wore as a teeniebopper, not to mention she may not even fit into it by the time she's 21 so who the frack cares? AI is hard to get into, she should just be happy she did. With ratings dropping, this may have been her last chance.

64. Was it stuck to her ass? That's what it looks like No wonder it ruined her dress, all the extra weight really pressed in into the fabric. Brilliant idea !!!

65. Give me a break- its glued on fake sequins..... If she was worried about hurting her dress she should have opted out of going t the show when she found out that she needed to wear a "sticker". Goodness, people will bitch about anything to get a little attention.

66. Unless she was forced where exactly the sticker must be placed - and told on the dress. Even then she chose to be there.
If I'd been in that situation - I'd have put sticker on my skin and protected my dress.

Too many people do what someone tells them to - then try and sue. So nope - she's the loser

67. kara, no way is that a designer dress unless the designer was Walmart. That is one of the cheapest types of shiny dresses ever. Even if they have a dress code and won't let you wear jeans or shorts, etc. she should have been able to figure out a better outfit. If she's worn that dress more than once, it already had some of those stuck-on dots come off. You usually loose some in the bag on the way home from the store. If she wanted something shiny, there are better fabrics that are no more expensive. Maybe AI should get fabric-friendly stickers but the shouldn't have to pay for this girl's bad judgement.

And to all the posters who insist on pointing out that there are more important issues in the world. You are absolutely right but this is a gossip site. If you're worried about the world's problems what are you doing here? Go post your opinions on news sites which report on those problems. You're not really helping your cause. Those of us who care about bigger things will go to those sites and some of us actually try to affect changes. The people who don't carfe aren't going to care anymore because you tell them there are more important problems. If they get all their news from TMZ, X17 or Perez Hilton, they're not going to listen to you and may even tune you and the world out because they find you irritating.

68. ok i doubt it would cost them that much to fix it so they should fix it, but still why wear a sequin dress to idol?

69. There is no way in hell anyone at American Idol is going to care about some cheap sequined dress. She doesn't stand a chance of them replacing it. That sequined fabric she is bitching about cost about $5 a yard. Go to the store, but a yard, and have someone fix it.

70. I heard she is going to sell the dress on eBay and donate the money to IDOL GIVES back .

71. Fix it yourself. Easy - peel the sequins off the name tag and glue them back on the dress. Can't get them off the label? Peel some off the inside of the hem and move them to the missing spots.

Next time you must put a sticker on a fragile fabric or something that could get stained or marked, like a leather jacket, put the sticker on a t-shirt or jeans, peel it off and repeat a few times. It will weaken the adhesive and add a layer of protective lint between the adhesive and the garment. The tag will still stick even after stuck and peeled from the t-shirt a few times.

We use this trick in the theater when we are hanging lights. We have to tape all the cords down. To be able to get the tape off after the show, we stick and peel the end of the tape on our clothes a couple of times. That gives us an easy peel starter when we are taking the lights down after the show.
