"Scud Stud" Declares "War" on Tom Hanks

Arthur Kent -- the "Scud Stud" from NBC -- is grasping at the last straws of his war-reporting glory, suing the makers of "Charlie Wilson's War" for using his voiceover in their footage of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
Read the docs
The Canadian reporter wants Universal Studios to shell out unspecified damages for using a 1986 newscast he made about the former Soviet Union's war on Afghanistan.

Also hilarious -- Kent relives his glory days in Afghanistan in the suit, trumpeting how he put himself in the middle of the fray with the freedom fighters. Universal had no comment.

16. That's a completely inaccurate headline TMZ. The only thing Hanks has to do with it is that he was in the movie. The irony is that this is a piece about protecting journalistic integrity! Good grief.

17. These are not the usual suspects posting here. The comments are articulate, intelligent and heartening. I guess Peter Kent attracts a different kind of groupie.

18. OOOPS. Arthur Kent.
As a teen I worked in a bakery (Eric's) and sold bread to his Mom every week. She was incredibly proud of her kids.

19. This is how lame Arthur Kent is now: He ran in a provincial (state) election in Canada, and couldn't even win that. His time as a serious reporter is over. He may as well be flipping burgers at McD's.

20. Arthur Kent worked for NBC News during the Gulf War. The news division is part of NBCUniversal, producers of "Charlie Wilson's War." They own the clip. Case dismissed.
