Celebrity Justice
Snipes Can't Drop Soap for a Loooong Time

Wesley Snipes won't be getting a Nicole Richie special in the big house: TMZ has learned that Prisoner 57 -- or whatever number he gets -- will have to do two-and-a-half years hard time (out of the three he was sentenced to). And that's only if he's a really good prisoner.

Federal inmates can't get parole, so Wes will be in for at least, by our calculation, 930 days.

78. www.zeitgeist.com

I don't remember who posted this (Alex?), but I've seen this before and didn't think many other people knew of it. It's refreshing to see it here on TMZ.

79. Your 100 % right income taxes are ILLEGALLLLL. All I have to say and Wesley should say is SHOW ME THE LAW!!!!!! Show me the law that says I have to pay taxes, Don't just tell me that I have to pay are go to jail. has anyone ever stopped to think about that, THERE IS NO LAW PEOPLE. You just think there is because you were always told that you have no choice but to pay taxes are spend time in jail. People, research. They had this one guy, and only guy that had the brains to stand up in court and told the judge, show me the law. It was a trial and this is a very true story, all 12 jurors were in the room ready to send this man to prison for not paying his taxes, this one lady in there started thinking about it and asked the other, where is the law so she can go over it and read it. Everyone els did not care to read anything because they just knew that you have to pay taxes. Well this one lady was not giving up until she seen the real law saying to have to pay taxes, of course she read hundreds of papers about tax laws but they were just paper thats it. There was no law and she was not about to send this man to jail. The others were getting really pissed and just wanted to go home so she called in other people to show her the law, they couldn't. She call on the judge to show her the law, he couldn't. Why, because people again THERE IS NOW REAL LAW SAYING YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO PAY YOUR TAXES. Its all a big fat ass lie. Now this story is online, I'm not sure where at but this was taped in a real court room. Oh, and what happened to the guy, the let him go home, he never broke any laws because there is no law!!!!

81. Well, I look at it like this: PREACH a crazy pitch about what's right or wrong with the Goverment; pay taxes or not...yadda..yah..ya..Bahhhhhh.. As my daddy always said, "Only two things in life are CERTAIN, death and paying taxes." Take it for what it's worth... it's true....get over it. Celebrities should not be immune to the law.

84.
I think it's strange that he took it so far. Why didn't he try to work something out with the IRS? Maybe he wants to be in prison for some warped reason in his mind.

I'm another one that thinks that this has nothing to do with his race, If the guy who works at McDonald's has to pay taxes, why wouldn't someone who makes so much more have to pay taxes?

85. If it not for his celebrity, he would have gotten FELONY convictions amounting to decades. He did not pay taxes for years, he hid money in off shore accounts, he applied for millions in bogus tax refunds.

Jason, listening to nuts like you is what got him in trouble in the first place. As much as we all hate paying federal income tax, Federal income tax is not illegal. There have been con artists our there for years would would argue otherwise. Like the ones that charged Wesley Snipes enourmous fees for their dubious tax advice. But, in the end Mr. Snipes is responsible for his actions. It's like a bank robber arguing that because someone told him bank robbery was not a crime, that he should be let go.

86. Jason, your right, but they have the guns and people are going to go to jail. Dont worry though. America is disintergrating into a balkanized mass of mostly Mexican immigrants on the west and Irish on the east coast and this will all go away in about 5 years with the absolute collapse of the Dollar and the US economy. Eat, drink and be merry!!!! AND BUY GOLD NOW

87. It's not that he's black, it's that he's a weasel.

88. Why should he pay taxes? He's BLADE!!! No but seriously, he hasn't made a watchable movie in 15 years so I've gotta ask.... why do we care? What would he have done if he wasn't in prison? Hmmm.... probably just make cheesy, straight to DVD, pseudo-martial arts movies with other D-list actors, like he's done since he started injecting HGH.

89. Jason, duh. the taxes don't just go to banks, but paying for our military, politicans, govt agencies, federal programs. So, constitutional or not, I don't suggest anyone go up against the IRS, and retract your mistake.

90. That is not correct -- Federal inmates indeed very much parole. What you probably meant to write is that he would have to do 85% of his time -- that is correct. Also, in all likelihood, Snipes would do his time in a low security facility, such as camp.
